I'm assuming so. We will be paying a percentage and I think it will be full.

There is no general rule for loan deals, it'll be whatever the clubs negotiated.

Lawwell's son is on the City staff though...

    This.

Or play him in the first team. That is a very real possibility now with Guardiola.

From what i understand of Roberts' deal we're only paying half of his wages. He would have been sitting in Man City U21's squad all season and they saw an opportunity to get him 18 months of first team football at half the cost.

I think our recent relationship with Man City is also helpful when it comes to striking deals for highly paid youngsters.

The biggest worry, is that we become too reliant on Roberts, similar to what happened with McGeady. All during the game in Astana, Michael Stewart was saying we should constantly be giving Roberts the ball, and he was probably right. Everything good we done going forward come through him. However, others have to step up to the plate in my opinion, and be confident on the ball.

He's the most talented dribbler we have and he had their full back on toast. That definitely isn't a worry I have personally, if he's terrorising teams then let him batter in.

He can't beat teams himself but that shouldn't stop us utilising him appropriately.

My worry is that we become too reliant on him. Of course it isn't a worry if he is beating his man regularly, it becomes a worry if he is the only man in the team doing so though.

Same could be said for any talented footballer, Ronaldo for Portugal a recent topical example.

We should worry if he wasn't there not because he is!

Portugal went on to win the final without Ronaldo to be fair, and in truth, he didn't have a fantastic tournament by any stretch.

I'm worried that others will need to start stepping up to the plate. Against Astana, he was our only out ball really. It's great that we have such a talented player in our team, he can't be the only player we rely on to get us up the park in Europe though, that's my whole point, which you appear to be missing.

I got your entire point the first time you posted.

My entire point is why look on having a quality player as a negative. Unbelievable :56:

Last year showed gow dangeroud it can be if you only have one player of genuine quality on form - i.e. Griffiths, with very little being offered by others in the team.

I'd be worried if we are left relying solely on Roberts this season as our main/only attacking outlet, but when you have a player of his quality entertaining us with almost every kick of the ball, you better believe I want to see the ball being played to his feet for the majority of every game he plays until the unfortunate time when he has to return to his parent club.
