Sterling, Silva, Navas and Nasri and that's before you account for the fact they'll more than likely just go and buy a replacement if he is long term injured!

That's not much depth. Nasri is injured too. 4 days to panic buy or promote their £12m prospect.

My only hope for this is that the loan runs til the end of the qualifiers and there is an option to extend depending on whether or not we qualify for the CL.
Maybe City see this as an opportunity to get him some CL experience, so if we do qualify then we can keep him for another 6 or 12 months.
If we don't qualify, they take him back after the qualifiers.

That's the only way I'd be happy with this loan.

Why? It's a loan, it's not like we're losing much by taking him on for a few months.

Someone said 'option to buy'....Cost £12, but players like this can be written off for a 3rd of the price. He isn't going to get games @ City, let's be honest..
12 month loan or till Christmas, we Qualify for CL, right there is a fee and wages, and that's not 25% of CL money..

Possible? Otherwise a 4 month loan goes against a lot of what Ronny been saying on all Celtic TV lately. He says short loans are pointless. What we think?

If he's ours through the quals etc then fair enough but I'd rather we gave Nesbitt the game time, tbh.

I like the optimism but there is no chance of us signing this young man permanently. He would have plenty of suitors in england willing to pay a lot more than we could. Hes touted as the next big thing. It will go against what ronny has been saying but maybe its not his signing who knows.

Seems a good player but we are not here to develop other teams players. Get this deal to fud, if they don't like our terms.... Fud off.

    He's only 18.

He could very easily make his way into the first team picture for them within the next couple year. His potential is massive.

Also factor in the point that they need a certain number of homegrown/English players. He's arguably England's biggest talent at that age, up there with Delle Alli. Although he's a couple year above.

That just made me laugh thinking about that Simpson's episode where the movie producers are charged the $1000 'leaving town' tax...:smiley-laughing002:

I wouldn't say he's anywhere near Delle Alli. Delle Alli has far more experience and has propelled himself right up to the very top young midfielders in the World and is starting for a top English club. Dell Alli would probably cost £30m+ now.

Roberts has played 20 times in the Championship and City have speculated on his potential. He might turn out to be an excellent player but he might just be the next Jermaine Pennant.

I never said he was near Delle Alli though did I in terms of current ability.

I mean he is in that same kind of bracket in terms of potential at that 18-20 age group. Alli obviously has more experience but if given that game time Roberts could easily reach those heights.

Delle Alli hae taken his chance well, I wouldn't have seen him reaching this level so quick. At the same time his form right now could be a flash in the pan. We never know.

He'll go on loan to championship or lower Premier league team. Unless we can buy the player at end of loan there is no point, no long term gain for us developing a player for another team, might help us short term but then there's a lot of playing time Allan, GMS, Forrest & Nesbitt could be getting.
