On the flip side to the negativity that he's only here on loan. We are really showing that this is a good club and environment to improve and make a name for yourself..

Paddy will probably already say he's much improved since joining here and with another season about to get up and running, and already tearing it up in the European qualifiers, he'll only keep doing so..

We can't afford these types of player's, but we're clever enough to give them a platform, and get the trust of club's like City, and other's will follow, in sending there BEST young players here to develop/be developed..

Loan or permanant, the only real difference is we don't get money for him when he goes which is tapered slightly by the fact there was no transfer fee to get him.

He is destined for the very top. There will be dips in form, undoubtedly, but his talent and his attitude are superb.

If we signed him on a permo we would only have him for about 18 months before the EPL vultures came lurking anyway lol .... we just need to embrace the wee marvelous * !!!

He's just a joy to watch. Touch of the Jinky about him in term's of beating a man, or instead of going an easier way in, he'll go back and skin a * for fun....but he does have the end product to go with it..

Love how he never faded in that hostility on the pitch today. Young boy's, or more sensitive soul's would've melted earlier after getting that many hacks. One of the first studded right down the calf....but got up everytime and still made a beeline for that shonking bruiser, and mugged him eventually to make it count!.

Marvellous ability, so so good this boy..

We need to be looking now for a longer term option in the mean time, even 1 or 2 new wingers.

Hopefully Sinclair is one. With 3 or 4 good options to rotate in wide areas Rodgers will really be able to get this side going. As good as Paddy is we can't look to him all the time. Having someone like Sinclair on the other side would really help him and give teams another thing to worry about.

Probably make his game even better.

At the moment, celtic should be offering whatever asking price man city are looking for, hopefully not in the 12m range, but you can see the boy is worth any amount paid.

There will be tears shed the day we have to give him back. Don't think we'll be in the market to get him when his loan finishes, be priced out by City who won't be looking to move him on, I don't think.

I think there's a very good chance he'll be playing in the World Cup in 2 years if he continues to progress in this manner. A breath of fresh air after watching Forrest for the last 6 years.

The kid is unbelievably talented. That, coupled with the fact that he doesn't shy out of a challenge and he proved last night that he won't shy away when the chips are down.. He has the makings of an elite footballer.

We shouldn't worry about how long he'll be with us, better just to enjoy the wee man doing his thing in a Celtic jersey this season.

Indeed. Any player who stands out as much as him won't be here long anyway.

Make the most of him while he's here. Hopefully we can make it to the CL this season and they let us keep him for another year. Doubt it though.

I think there could well be a possibility of tying him up on a permanet deal. Look at Man city under Guardiola, they have De Bruyne, Silva, Sterling, Nolito, Nasri, Navas and are looking to buy Sane who is another winger. And who knows who else before Roberts loan is up.

Paddy, please don't go. Sing this enough during the season and he'll stay :fear:

Players who can beat a man are so vital in Europe. It's why Forrest was so important for us last year, and Samaras before him. McGeady was the same as well.

Roberts has shown he'll either go past you or draw a foul the majority of the time.

Sometimes he overdoes it, and he needs to introduce a bit more variety to his game. That can and will be coached into him.
