Didn't think he was as bad as is being made out either.

I think people expected a lot more but it was his first game of that nature and bigger and more experienced players have shat their pants in it.

He'll make up for it next season.

That miss clearly * his game. Before that he was doing okay, but after the miss he was fairly quiet.

Next season he'll be a hunskelper.

    Vastly more? Really?

I think he'll be a massive player for us next season. It's a shame we don't have him for longer.

Aye Sterlings more about pace and movement. Passing, ball control, shooting, actual ability on the ball is something Roberts is far more talented at.

Sterling is extremely hit and miss at all of the above.

Does anyone else feel really * old seeing fetus Roberts in a Carling strip? :smiley-laughing002:

I'm only in my 20s, but it doesn't seem as though Carling was our sponsor that long ago. Roberts looks to be about 8/9 in that picture and that would have been the Strachan era here.

I guess you just get used to seeing old pictures of kids wearing Celtic strips sponsored by CR Smith and NTL, it's scary :smiley-laughing002:

By the time we're in our mid 40s, the next generation of Celtic players' baby pictures will be in Dafabet strips :fear:

Yip, Sterlings weapon is blinding pace.

Roberts can do just about everything else better. In fact in terms of finishing Roberts is on a different level entirely, Sterlings shooting is a disgrace for an international level attacker.

You have changed your tune somewhat in a year regarding Sterling. You rated him very highly if I remember correctly.

Nah and you still don't get the debate at the time :56:

You said he wasn't going anywhere for 50 million, I said he was.

One of us was proven right.

No, and have a look back at the thread. I never once said he wouldn't go for big money, in fact, I was the one that said he would end up at City. I pointed out that he wasn't worth it, and was vastly overrated. You were the one stating he was a quality player etc. Basically, what I said has happened. He ended up at City and has failed, mainly because he isn't that good. What you said about there being a host of clubs willing to buy him didn't really come to fruition. One of us was proven right though, you are spot on there.

When he's flying past people for fun he is a quality player but that's his main weapon.

IMO Roberts has more to his game.

Even when he does fly past people for fun, which doesn't happen very often, his end product is rotten. He is a bang average player, that went for big money because he is English. City were always going to be the only team daft enough to actually fork out the kind of money he went for. Talk of Real Madrid, Bayern etc, were pie in the sky. I said then he would be lucky to make the bench for they sort of teams, and I stand by that.

I agree with you that Roberts has more to his game.

Difficult to say he'll certainly be marked a lot tighter and he'll be the target of the Rangers. Aberdeen and Hearts defenders to be snapped

Imagine our attack with him cutting in on the right, Elyounoussi cutting in on the left, and Griffiths up the middle. Goal's galore :icon_mrgreen:

I can't wait to see who we bring in but I haven't been excited by a player the way I am with Roberts for ages.

Aye, he really had as good an impact as Bellamy or Robbie Keane yet was 18/19. I think he'll score about 20 goals this season, looks too good for the SPL can beat players too easy and is a good creator and finisher.

    Love him.

Just a shame he's only here for a short time.

You can only see Rodgers improving Roberts' variation. I really can't wait to see what he does this year..

He's gonna crucify this division in my opinion under our new attacking formation..
