He's good enough for City I think, he's at the very least close to that level.

To be fair, it was like £4 million with the potential to rise to 12. But aye, we have zero chance of signing him. He's probably going to be a good player for City.

As Devlin said, we can't build the team around him because he is quite inconsistent, but when he's on his game he's absolute class. Surround him with better players and we're laughing. We really could be doing with a goalscoring winger on the left as well i.e. Elyounoussi.

Pep could come in and decide he's not needed.

Let's be honest, Pep is far more likely to give youth a chance than most managers.

Probably the only manager in world football who wouldn't do that:smiley-laughing002:

If he did somehow, the whole of England would line up to take him.

"Paddy Roberts is nothing special, we've got 100s of him here in Spain, he's overhyped cause he's English. That is all":fear:

City fan here (congrats on the title)

Depressing seeing Navas playing for us every week whilst Roberts, a talent clearly worth integrating, is with you for another season. Navas isn't capable of scoring the goal PR scored today

With that said, the loan makes sense for the player. He has plenty of the ball, by virtue of playing for the best team, whilst learning to deal with his small stature in a physical league.
Makes sense for Celtic too. No real point in having him for just a few months.

Not ideal for us given that Pep is taking over. A new manager should get to run the rule over every player but it is what it is.

Like Denayer it looks like PR will be joining the 1st team squad a year later than he ought to. One of the reasons I'm counting the days till Pellegrini is gone!

Anyway, good to see PR doing well!

Yea, tho based on the same youtube clips I'm sure you all watched when he signed and now his time at Celtic. Pellegrini only gave him like 20 mins in a league cup game we'd already won so we never saw him play for us.

Many were angry with the 18 month loan at the time. No doubt his performances for you have only heightened the anger. Lots of anger around the place in general atm. The prospect of Pep is the only thing keeping a lid on it really.

Denayer and Roberts should be playing for City already.

    Welcome to the forum.

Definitely feel he can go on to be a better prospect than Sterling. I know it's early days but he has all the attributes he does with what looks like a more natural ability to score goals.

Don't know just how highly you all still rate Sterling down there but I see no reason why Roberts can't come back at 20/21 and emulate him.

I think he definitely needs a bit more time to develop before he's ready for City. Next year our league will be a bit more competitive and every game will be a must win, much like it is for City. Hopefully we will also get into the Champions League and he'll get a taste of what it's like to play against top opposition.

Right now he gets a chance to go past his man many times in a game. I would imagine at City the opportunities would be a lot more limited, and failure to dribble past would be much more costly. The main thing he needs to do is make sure every minute he is at Celtic he is improving and doesn't stagnate. That's all down to him as a person though, the opportunity here is great as many past players have shown.

He's going to be phenomenal for us next year..

Genuinley frightened the Sheep. Trickery, pace and a quality end product..

Yes he's still raw and fades a touch but you can't argue with halves like that..

    Take a bow son..

PR: I love scoring goals. The feeling's unbelievable & once you get that feeling you don’t want it to stop as Leigh Griffiths will tell you.

PR: For the first goal I came inside, brought my head up & there was nobody beside me so I just hit it and it went in the top corner.

PR: I wanted to get games and show what I’m capable of & I’m starting to do that, and it’s good to get the reward of being champions today.

PR: We’ll enjoy the celebrations, finish the last two games of the season, enjoy the summer & come back fit and ready to go for the treble.

PR: The manager has had faith in me to put me in the team so I’ve got pure respect for him and I thank him a lot.
