Think under deila with proper backing and freedom of both manager and player he would be great. But alas that is now history.
Any number of coaches/manager could really being greatness out of him, he just needs one who is attacking minded and wants us to play football. Guy is very young and can't carry a full team yet, but given some freedom and a solid squad being him, the kid is gonna be fantastic.

Not yet but even Aiden McGeady wasn't Aiden McGeady at 19:smiley-laughing002:

No doubt in my mind that Roberts will go on to have a much more successful career.

Seems a good young lad- like him a lot though still a bit raw. Dont think he will make it at man city though. They just throw money about there not to interested in development.

Would love to see the next manager building next season around him. Play him behind the striker or something - free role.

Pretty short sighted to build a team around a loanee mate.

it would dictate that when he goes after 12 months we must sign a player of equal style and ability to fill his role the following season... can you see he board spending 10-12M on a player to replace Roberts?

Pretty short-sighted to imagine we can't adapt again when he's gone!

Point of building a team around someone is because they are a special talent who we can maximise performance from.

RD on Patrick Roberts' club v country dilemma: "I'm sure they will want to keep him here and he wants it as well."

RD: "He has played a lot of youth football but playing in #UCL qualification will be very good for his development."

RD: "He (Patrick) is a good, confident boy, always calm on the ball & always wants the ball. He's also dangerous: creates & scores."

RD: "Patrick is a special talent, technically & creative-wise but he still has things to add to his game, perfect for him to be here."
