So why did he personally go down to ask this player to join if he didn't think he could do a job just now, we need changes in this team the now cause those on the park aren't cutting it and if Deila cant see that then he is even worse than i thought

If he can't meet our expectations he's unlikely to meet City's..

We've got nothing to lose in expecting him to be a sensation, not our player.

    So I see!

Do Fulham need to win every single game they play and by the looks of things by 4 or more goals into the bargain? :56:

Build him up to put more pressure on him to possibly crash, meaning Ronny will just be slated again by everyone for talking him up.
    Not a good plan.

I trust Ronny's judgement on young players and how to develop them more than fans using it as an excuse to bash the manager even more.

He's managing expectations, has he said he won't play?

I think most people can read between the lines - he clearly isn't happy at experiencing his first back to back losses at Celtic. And neither is Brown so you can guarantee the squad are the same.

There are many things than foreign players need to adjust to. Climate, lifestyle, the food, living far away from your loved ones, language etc. Hopefully next season he will be acclimatised.

    Pressure? :smiley-laughing002:

If he can't hack it with us, he's not likely to make the grade in the EPL..

Seriously what has Ronny got to lose?

I take your point but that is the side that has put him in this position they are equally to blame and i feel it needs shaken up a bit, and my stinks comment was aimed at was this just a signing as to doing another deal with Lawwell's son or does Ronny think the boy can make a difference

You never know how a player will react though, he'll definitely be involved and get some time on as a sub then be able to work his way into a starting position.
He'll have to prove himself, we could see Tierney was a better player than Izzy from start of the season and it took a few months for him to cement his place.

Lowering of expectations with a lad who is meant to have so much quality could be even more detrimental though.

People are vastly over-estimating Peter Lawwell's son position within Man City. He doesn't make transfer decisions and he won't be dealing with Celtic directly.

Deila's relationship with Pellegrini is more important when signing players.

He needs fitness to compete with Ross County? Somebody tell Ronny we're not playing Champions' League. Teams like Aberdeen and Ross County would * there pants playing against this kid because he's completely unpredictable. Quick, not too greedy. Has to be a better option than Richards.

This is worrying to say the least, mulgrew was out for ages and got flung back in right away, sometimes some of the stuff ronny comes out with seems baffling.

On another point i cant remember Ronny having to manage or lower expectations about Deneyer, no he played him cause he * had to something just doesn't sit right with me about his comments today and this boy not being ready to play, he cant be any worse than Forrest or Armstrong stuck out on the wing

Probably more a case of playing his reputation down a bit. He looks quite an unpredictable player too, so randomly throwing him in from the start one week could be worrying for any opposition we face in the SPL.

    Completely irrelevant.

    Denayer wasn't the 'Belgian Messi'.

Well it's not like Ronny said he's * or anything :smiley-laughing002: Gave him a little reality check, how many young players over the years have gotten big moves at a young age then think they've made it, then stop putting in the effort to keep improving.
Keep their ego in check and feet on the ground, not all 18 year olds are like Tierney unfortunately.

Surely if he is being called the English Messi thats more of an argument to pick him than not, especially as i said our wingers aren't exactly playing well at the moment, not that i would call Armstrong a winger or Allan when he comes out and gets stuck out there

He's calling himself that. Celtic fans have picked up on it and the Manager is tapering expectation.

    All standard stuff.
