Definitely more to do with the fact that he's not our player than anything else.

That latest interview is the biggest indicator that we're a definite option long term. He clearly has some smart people advising him (KT :56:).

I think that last interview is the most promising yet. He sounds genuinely torn - like he loves it here but he's probably always wanted to get to the top of the premiership.

I still don't think we have any hope of a permanent deal. The best we could do is another year loan and I feel that's looking more likely. I would happily take that.

If he continues on the curve he's on it at Celtic it won't be the top of the Premiership he'll be heading, it'll be the top of a good league like La Liga.

Thing is with a years loan, yes we get a decent player who we all love watching but we end up paying most of his contract with city for them to call all the shots and make money from his performances for us!

We should be telling them to name a price, then either match it or get a loan with view to buy. Why develop their talent for them, they don't need paddy or the money so * them. If they won't play him he should request to leave.

We get a fantastic player, not a decent one. We should do everything we can to get him playing for us again next season. I agree it's not ideal but even on loan, he is the difference between qualifying for the UCL or not qualifying. He might well be the difference between a treble and a double.

I agree, he's a terrific player who wins games for us, invaluable. But we still need a long term solution at RW. I'm not convinced by Forrest even after a good season from him, he goes missing in too many matches.

City have Sane, Sterling, Dr Bruyne and Silva who can all play in Roberts' role, and will surely spend again in summer. We should be looking to buy Paddy with the offer of guaranteed first team football.

Was watching some of his highlight reels on YT last night, he really is a talent.

His ability with the ball is incredible and I can't think of a British player in recent times who is comparable? In terms of style.

We need to go all out to get him, he can help propel us to the next level. Whenever he played in Europe this season he made a difference, as soon as he came on in Gladbach we instantly looked more of a threat, scored against City, got us on our way against Red Imps.

He must have some good people behind him, I imagine his dad will maybe be telling him to seriously think about returning here and that comment about his mum saying to enjoy putting on a show for the crowd is another positive. At 20 years old, he could stay here for another 3-5 years then still have more than enough time to go and make his impact in a top league.

Difficult decision for him as there's benefits to staying here, staying at City, or going on loan elsewhere.

It's shows you how well the guy has handled himself up here that he has those options though. He's put himself in a very good position because his attitude and application have been top notch.

I can't see us getting him permanently. We shall see though. Maybe another loan?

I still think there's no way we'll get him permanently; but I'm starting to think another season on loan is a distinct possibility. I assume he'll go back and try to break into the City team, but assuming he's not quite ready yet, you'd have to think another year here under Brendan and hopefully with CL football would be a better option than fighting relegation with the "Sunderlands" of this world like Denayer.

Another years loan does far more than that. If we can get him back early enough it massively increases our chances of qualifying for the CL groups. It also gives us a year to either find a replacement or give Mikey Johnstone more first team experience, so he is ready to take over. It also reduces the time left on his contract, to a point City might be more willing to offload him. No, another year loan is far from just about improving him for City to get the benefit.
