Im just hanging onto the belief that with Aguero, Sane, Jesus and Sterling with possibly according to the man city forums Bernardo Silva and Alexis Sanchez being sought after he will be back. Younger wingers on loan like Zinchenko, Moreno and Bersant Celina coming back with Roberts. I think Nasri might be returning to.Im not talking about it anymore though I'm going to convince myself he will be back then will be sorely disappointed if he doesnt.

    The latest from Man City:
Man City won't make a decision on Paddy until he's reported back for preseason with them. Guardiola wants to see assess him against the players they currently have. We've made it clear we want him and have told them that we're open to another seasons loan if they don't want to sell. The player wants to stay but it's ultimately up to Guardiola.

Going off that if he returns on loan it would be some time in August maybe before the play-off round of the CL

If we can't get him in on a permanent, rather we look at other targets...

If Alexis Sanchez signs then it can only aid our cause further.

Now beginning to think we might see him in the Hoops again next season. Guardiola will have a say of course but if Roberts is unhappy and isn't guaranteed football (much like Denayer before moving to Sunderland) then he will want to be loaned out/sold. Player can still have a big say.

If the Player wants to stay then it's up to Man City to let go they will be handsomely reimbursed I am sure.

If it was a loan with no possibility of a permanent transfer at the end of it, we would be set to lose a integral member of the squad at the end of next season. We need to start looking for a replacement IMO....

PATRICK Roberts is determined to finish his 18-month loan stint at Celtic in style by helping inspire the champions to a domestic treble in Saturday’s Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen.

The 20-year-old could have missed the Hampden showpiece with England Under-20s in action in the World Cup finals.

But the winger elected to stay with Brendan Rodgers' side as they attempt to complete a domestic clean sweep for only the fourth time in the club’s history.

“You don’t quite know what’s going to happen, but I have made a decision and I’m proud of that decision,” he said. “I have a massive final to play and I want to be part of that and hopefully we can get the win. There is incentive for us to go all the way and we will hopefully do that.

“If it is going to be the last game, I want to go out on a high and to seal a treble at this massive club would be big for me and hopefully we can do that at the weekend.

“It’s tough, with the media background and the fans, but we will stay as positive as ever and we will go into that game how we have all season and show the same mentality as we have any other game.”

Roberts has enjoyed a terrific time in Paradise since making a temporary move from Manchester City in January 2016.

A title winner in his first season, he has gone on to lift the League Cup and another league championship – the club’s sixth in a row – in the current campaign.

The talented attacker has also become an Invincible after the Bhoys completed their entire Scottish Premiership season unbeaten following Sunday’s win over Hearts.

But he’s put all celebrations on hold as Celtic look to complete the perfect domestic term at the National Stadium.

“We still have another important game to play so hopefully there will be big celebrations next week and we will look forward to the game,” said the English youngster.

“We have the same focus and same mindset going into every game and we will go into the final in the same way. It’s a massive trophy to be part of and a big one in Scottish football, so it’s important for all the players, not just me, to go into it 100 per cent and give 100 per cent for the team, and every single player will do that and hopefully we get the get the best outcome.

Roberts has been in sensational form in recent weeks, scoring four goals in his last four games and creating a number of goals and chances for his team-mates.

And pleased with the progress he has made under Brendan Rodgers, he’s brimming with belief ahead of the trip to Hampden.

“I’m feeling good and confident at the moment," he said. "As a player you need to feel good about yourself when you go into a game as when you feel confident and positive, you do what you do best and that’s hopefully what I have done. I am enjoying my football just now.

“As a player you thrive on games and form and you become a better player for it. I have come on leaps and bounds in the time I have been here, so thanks to the players and the staff here who have all been amazing. It’s been a good year but it’s not over year we will look to finish it strongly."

Defo strart looking but to get three years out of Paddy on loan, would be a * bargain.

We can lose an integral member of our squad at anytime.

Permanent deal would be the signing of the century another loan deal would soften the blow.

The emphasis on the "IF its my last game" gives me hope.

“If it is going to be the last game, I wantto go out on a high and to seal a treble at this massive club would be big for me and hopefully we can do that at the weekend."

    Earlier in the season he seemed set on going back to city. Here is quotes from january;

"Hopefully at the end of the season I can take that back with me to City and have a good go there. It's been a great experience and I'm thankful for that."

Might be wishful thinking but his tone is difinetly different.

Mental he could leave here a legend. Invincible and a treble.

The amount of players that get sent out on loan to diddy clubs fighting relegation for a few months or mid tier lower league teams and he's came up here and done it all. Even scored against his parent club in the Champions League :giggle1:

The boy would be a great player for us.But as a club i think we should be careful not sell ourselves short here. We have a chance of champions league football next season (group stages)and we have players here who are hungry to experience that. And i think that hunger has been the catalyst to our performances this season and i think we need players who want to continue in the vein and not players who are here because they are not wanted elsewhere. As i said paddy could be a great player but i would rather he was with us because he want to play with us and play European football than being with us just because its convenient for him.

You can hardly call it like that when he has already knocked back the England tournament to stay for the cup final.
