Could have the opposite effect if he comes here and doesn't play much as we put out our best side most games to try to win a treble

I know where you're coming from but I'm not sure if it is.

If it means that every other year we'll get one of their youth players on loan then what's the point? We need to be signing players, not loaning them.

We can still sign players though.

Fact is we are going to loan players now and again. Folk would be as well getting used to it.

I'm quite happy to take a highly rated young player for 12 months or so every now and again. Granted 6 months is too short but year long deals or 18 months aren't bad.

They can be useful with older players as well. Wakaso, Tonev, Berget etc are examples. Yes it's nice to have a player permanently but getting someone in on loan with a buy option is often a smarter option. Especially when you consider the amount of money we have wasted on sheer dross. A club in our position can't afford to always keep wasting money like that.

Maybe they would be willing to loan us Aguero, Sterling, Silva and Toure just for the qualifiers and they could then go back to City for the Group stages.:icon_mrgreen:

I'm happy if we veto this because it's only until the end of the season.

No matter how good he is, that is just not of any use to us.

Agreed, I really think we should be givin Nesbitt (and our other good youngsters) the games. I understand why were after this kid though and it would be great if he was ours till next January but thats not the case, apparently, so, I say no to this.

Dont want him at all. Doesnt matter how good he is or how big a star he'll be, we shouldnt be developing other peoples players which is all this loan would be good for. If it was a year or 18 months then go for it but a 4 month loan is ridiculous and not even definite he would manage to break into the team in such a short time.

I totally agree. We don't need this guy to push us over the edge in terms of being able to win anything this season. So taking him on loan for just the rest of this season would only benefit the player and Manchester City and take playing time away from our own players.
Now if it was a longer term loan and the feeling was this guy could really make a big difference in helping us make the Champions League group stages next season then I can at least see an argument for going for it even though we could never afford to buy him outright. But to just get him on loan the rest of this season that does nothing for us so hopefully if that is all that is on offer we say no thanks.

No I am not Paul, we have been speaking to them and I said it should be done by the weekend if we can agree terms which as of today we haven't!

Also I said from the start Celtic wanted 12-18 months on the deal!

Don't see why City would be against a 12 to 18 month loan deal. He's hardly going to be involved for them next season. They'll no doubt add to their attacking line in the summer as well moving him even further down the squad.

You said it should be done by the weekend when only yesterday morning you said it should be done for today by the latest.

And that he would be going back in July (he was never going back in July), yet his loan would end at the end of may (end of the season).
