You're forgetting we bought him for £200k or less. A million would represent a fivefold profit so it's hardly buttons.

I love him and think he was a highly successful and entertaining signing but it's clear the manager won't play him, apart from ludicrous ten minute cameos, so he should leave for his own sake.

I'd wait until the end of the season and give him another shot against the huns in the next game at ipox. This will probably come just after bankruptcy and a late paddy goal would probably cause mass hun suicides.

Er..... wut? Who said it's buttons?

All I was saying is that we could feasibly get more than £1m... as in £200k of buttons (lol) or something. PL has a history of negotiating such clauses.

£1m upfront with an extra £1m performance related fees.

    what?

no one has said anything about 'buttons'.

it's clear that he has never been a first team regular and under three managers, he has never featured regularly.

i'd rather field our strongest team against Rangers. i wouldn't want to take risks with fringe players unless it's forced upon us to do so.

from now until the end of the season, i can't even see a spot on the bench for McCourt. he'd have to take a serious look at his career. does he want regular first team experience? because if he does, he'll have to leave.

start the bidding at £1m. good bit of business imo.

Hes said he's happy with a supersub role with the odd start, so on that note I'd keep hold of him.

He held down a regular place for about 8 games, it was only when we signed Commons he was put back in the bench. He should stay.

Only a few days left in the window. I think Paddy should look for a transfer, it's clear that Lennon has very little intention of using him.:31:

If that's true, then it's probably one of the reasons he doesn't have a regular place in the first team.

I'm not interested in a 'good bit of business' unless it's many millions, too many people playing champ manager these days and basing their football knowledge on that, half a mill here or there is nothing for a club of our stature. He has scored umpteen vital goals and made many assists for us, the league would have been over long before the end last season where it not for him.

Unfair this talk of 'three managers' not rating him; Strachan hated him cos he was a Lawell signing and the opposite of his dour football philosophy, Mowbray was only here 5 minutes and did play Paddy in the Europa League(he did very well against Hamburg when he came on).Lennon either rates him or is lying since he has praised him on numerous occassions, and is wrong to not give him more opportunities. For this reason, not his lack of ability, Paddy should leave.

You wouldn't love to see Paddy get 15 mins or more against a downtrodden and demoralised huns at ipox? In fact dunno why I ask, he could score a wondergoal in the 90th minute and you'd still be greetin that he didn't track back.

I'd ask all the paddy haters to tell us exactly what he is supoosed to have done wrong so far?

Haters? Are you descrbing me as that? Truth of the matter is i don't mind McCourt. i just don't like fans that greet because they think he's the best thing since sliced bread and should be getting more game time. He shouldn't because others deserve it more and perform to a higher level at a consistent standard.

If he isn't going to get a game why should we turn down offers and keep paying his wages?

It's not that he should be getting more game time, just that he is good backup, a plan C if you will.

There is plenty that should be shown the door before Paddy McCourt.

Maybe he's content to just sit on the bench 90% of the time and still get paid. Strange though if this is the case, since every professional footballer should be striving to further their careers and get as much game time as they can.

i don't think anyone is under the impression that those Bhoys will be here at the start of next season.

you're right though, those chaps don't have a place here any more. sadly, McCourt seems to be joining that list as he continues to fail to make the bench.

They've been punted out on loan already.

I'm not fussed if he stays or goes tbh. Whether it's his own fault or someone else's, he contributes little to nothing to the team though. If someone will give us money for him, I'd rather we had cash and his wages to bring in someone else.

Also getting a bit fed up of anyone who doesn't think he's that great being called a 'hater'. It's as patronising and as unfounded as accusations that his fans only like him because he's Irish and they can sing a song.
