Top article, really sums it up.

I hope people wont start saying he isnt good enough after getting injured today, he started to look dangerous after every minute, then he got his injury.

Hope it isnt that bad and hope hes back doing what he does best.:50:

That is not the case, I like McCourt, but the first 5 times he got the ball today he did nothing, absolutely nothing, go and watch the replay.
That happens in fitba, and he might not do that again this season, but he lost the ball each time one way or another, he could not get going, and he wasnt the only one most of the game! :87:

Paddy lost the ball because he was constantly running at defenders and causing them trouble ! If Messi done that would u say he shouldnt start. He runs at players and it doesnt always come off for him. Paddy was our main threat and we defo missed him when he wasnt on. All he needs is for one or two of those runs to come off and the games over !!

Today proved to me he should not start , was dire offered nothing and trying to do everything by him self , needs to learn to * pass the ball and get his head up and look at the options he has ,
Also left us far too open down the left with him not tracking back playing him against the huns would be a massive mistake , should only be used in the 30/35 min's of the game when defenders are tired and he can work his magic ,
We was far better today when he went off the park had he stayed on the park i dont think we would have won ,

Paddy MC Court is a fantastic player when he was in the reserve team he tore strips out of players, if you ask any player who he played against him, they will all say he is exceptional and gifted, and they say he should be playing no question, so lads you are in for a treat, when you see him play as i think he is here to stay at the top, maloney needs to up his game starting to fall into the MC gready mold if you ask me.

McCourt going off was not the difference between winning and losing.

He's not the type of player that plays well for an entire game, playing him for 90 minutes rather than 20 just means there's more chance one of his mazy runs or clever through balls wins the match.

I dont think we can comment just yet on him as we have only really seen him come on as a sub and he has done well. twice he has started this year and 70 or so mins vs inverness and 20 mins today is not enough to judge him as a starter.

Personally i think his type of player would be better vs tired players later on in the game, but if hes fit enough he should always start as he is so talented it is a waste on the bench.

Some of these posts are beyond an opinion on what happened in the game against Kilmarnock, did all of you see the game, he is a verygood player, he scores goals that are exceptional, but it so happened he was terrible in this game, and I am reading excuses and acceptance of his play, I find that absurd to say the least.
If a player is off form or downright dire admit it ffs! :47:

FFS, McCourt was beating players with ease, he was unlucky a few times, but when he went off we struggled to get the ball past the last line of their defence. Paddy was getting by them but was just unable to get the crosses in, he's also got the ability to score from outside the box which we lacked.

The guy is a genious and needs a manager to show faith in him give him a run of games and see how he does?

Hartson is a prime example, when he came he looked overweight, unfit and crap. He struggled to get a game, when his chance came, he took it and got better and better with every game and turned out to be a legend and McCourt can have the same impact!

He was neither off form or downright dire though, that's the point.

He was the same Paddy McCourt you always get, trying to jink past people and set up or score goals. It doesn't come off a lot of the time but when it does it wins you games, simple as that.

I find it astounding some of the people who are slating McCourt are the ones that are banging on about Scott brown being a good player, says it all really.

i'd rather have a guy with immence ability, who gets people off their seats by scoring wonder goals and beating players for fun who is not properly match fit than someone who can run about all day but has little technical ability, and is not a good passer or striker of the ball.

If paddy gets a run of games he will get his fitness and come good :50:

It's always worth having him in the squad when available because there is always that chance that he can do something special. Good point about how sometimes it won't come off for him, but it's all worth it for that time it does. In fact, with his ability he could be appearing to be struggling then he could get a yard of grass to work with and do something amazing.

today reminded me that although it can be impressive, Paddy bascically tries to do exactly the same thing-dribble past 4 men down the left. When it doesnt come off as was the case today, it just looks like greed and poor vision. Maloney stepped in and linked the attacking play so much better. Paddy for me is an impact sub and never a starter.

Pretty much sums it up. I think Paddy suffers from the same thing as McGready. He wants to do it all himself. That is at the same time the thing that impresses some fans and also what has limited his career. He should watch Maloney. Maloney is a far more balanced player who varies what he does and is a good team player.

Whatever he does he should not watch Maloney, give me a jinking off-the-cuff player any day over a step over king that can't get a cross by the first man.

If both played the same amount of games over a season I would guarantee you McCourt would win you infinite more games.
