I don't really get the fuss with McCourt. I'm okay with him being a member of the team, low wages and can provide the occassional spark and sure, he can go and skin 5 players and score a wonder goal, but more often he'll just put his head down and lose the ball attempting another wonder goal. I don't find that very exciting as there's just no consistency and a considerable lack of end product for me to get overly excited.

One of the memories of him I have is when he came on as a sub in ET against the huns in the league cup final and he did his usual head down thing and was falling over the ball, when we needed some urgency. There's too much of stuff like that and I'm not sure if that outweighs the odd wonder goal in my book.

So bottom line is if he stays fine, if not just as fine. I wouldn't go and build a team around him.

I accept that perhaps the manner in which I have gone about expressing my opinion has been a tad OTT but it's only because I'm passionate about all things Celtic. In the future I'm sure we can all respect all opinions because afterall that's what being a Celtic fan is all about. Besides if McCourt scores a winner against Helsingborg from the bench, I too will celebrate believe it or not. p.s My sister has much better taste in men than that scruffy waster :86:

I might not be McCourt's biggest fan but how dare you compare him to a fictional character in a very wacky book. :50:

The only reason McCourt receives so much adulation is because of where he is from. If he was Latvian, people would be telling him to leave.

Ah yes, that's why I'm constantly hearing people chanting for Daryl Murphy to stay and all the constant moaning about why we didn't keep Niall McGinn and Darren O'Dea.

    Thank you Sherlock :icon_mrgreen:

How many times does it have to be proved that isn't the case before it sinks in?

Daryl Murphy, Darren O'Dea, Niall McGinn.

Why if it's because he is Irish is adulation not heaped on their shoulders too?

I don't even know why I'm bothering here...

Won't you accept that we've all agreed that being being Irish isn't the reason people love Paddy, and that we all also agree Murphy, O'Dea ect are utter *? May as well talk to a brick wall.

I've said everything I've needed to say on the matter, you can look at all the previous pages. I'm just warning the guy that he should avoid this debate unless he wants to be here for a long time. I'm done and we'll respectfully agree to disagree. :50:

Ok we'll agree to disagree on the FACT that nationality is not why Paddy is loved. You would love me to get banned for this * wouldn't you? :bbpd:

This was your post on page 18

Something like 9 posts and 4 pages later and you are still going.

You are at the wind up and I'm out of this stupid argument because it's just going round in circles.

Nice to see the reason why people come onto the forum. For me it's to put my point of view across and add to a discussion, but it seems for others it's to create threads to entice an 'argument' and then engage in a point scoring exercise. :38:
