Coyle has done well at Burnely without a lot of money, he wouldn't be my first choice but we need a change!

    Evening Gentlemen, Burnley fan here.

I think there's a certain inevitability about OC becoming the Celtic manager, I just don't think it's going to be this time round.

There's no doubt that he'd love to take the job, He's a Celt through and through, but I believe it would be in the best interest of all parties if he had a crack at the EPL first. Lets face it, the experience would be invaluable.

He's 18 months on his contract, if Burnley win the PO's tomorrow (Monday) then there's a contract extension waiting for him.

Just a footnote to those who think he's done nothing yet. Fair do's, the Turf Moor trophy cabinet hasn't been extended, but to knock Chelsea, Arsenal, Fulham, and West Brom out of the cup comps and take Spurs to the edge is a fair effort. Don't be fooled into thinking that these guys all put understrength teams on the park.

Then to make the PO final, all with the smallest squad, lowest wage bill and playing the most games, with the exception of Man U, takes some doing.

OC has been able to attract some very good young players, and is a driven bloke, his own man, and sets high standards.

Anyway, thats my take on it. Celtic park for OC in 3 years time.
    Good luck lads.

great post mate. i think he's a great manager, but far too early in his career to manage us. i think he should stay with you and gain more experience. that's meant in no way to disrespect your club.

No offence taken at all Conor, We've a pretty decent grip on our place in World football, and as such anybody, manager or player, who is successful here is open to be taken away by bigger clubs.

OC is a man with a plan and managing in the EPL and European glory at Celtic is on the radar.

Just one other point, don't underestimate the part Sandy Stewart plays in his success.

Fuckn right. I used to support Airdrie when a child. The abuse he got from his own fans - despite being a fuckn goalscoring ace - says a lot. I know. I remember. Wheter I want him for manager or not is another matter. Undecided.:shamrock:

If Owen Coyle continues on the path he is on he'll get his wish to manage Celtic one day. I'm not so sure he's ready but like that Herald article suggests, this might be the only time we have a realistic chance of bringing him in, he is destined for top level management.

If Burnley win today, is he really gonna leave them for us? If Burnley win today, it'll be Mowbray IMO.

Like Messi and other don't see him abandoning what he's doing at Burnley if he gets them in the Prem.

That Sky Odds is interesting though, seems certainty that WGS is leaving then.

    Willie McStay not even mentioned!!:47:

Every man & his dog on there, bar Willie.

I would not be upset if Willie got the job, I'd rather Davie Moyes of course, but in reality he's never going to come.
