Just seen we've went for a late token bid for the Belgian boy again which Lawwell must think we're buttoned up the back..

Bartolec we could definitely afford and get and player's from Scandinavia and plenty other region's who'd be dying to come here at affordable prices..

The jump from legs gone ageing Lustig to 8/10 million pound established internationals is * ridiculous..

 

Bartolec or Gumny are the type we should be going for, they suit our model and are likely on a much lower wage than the ones we’ve targeted.

We're going for guy's 8 mill plus and on 25/30 odd grand a week who the club's aren't willing to sell and if they are we'll be outpriced..

How about we look at player's in the 2 to 4 mill bracket on around 10 grand a week who the club's can't turn us down and want to come here..

It’s a carbon coby of what happened to Liverpool’s recruitment under Rodgers. He demanded control of everything or he wouldn’t take the job and it turned into a mess when it came to selling players and him having to sign replacements.

He tried to blame everyone else when he left as well but Liverpool have been phenomenal at recruiting since he left and Michael Edwards took over the recruitment.

Some fans would go mental though if we brought in someone to improve the recruitment and it made Rodgers walk.

 

And rightly so..

He’s a phenomenal coach..

 

So we should just keep wasting millions and stagger from window to window because he’d rather have his fraud of his pal in place than the club look to improve itself and plan for the long term?

Recruitment, especially in defence has been a negligent disgrace.. in practically every other aspect of managing us he’s been a success beyond the most optimistic of Celtic fans dreams..

Anything after him will be a downgrade.

 

He always says how he gets the most satisfaction from developing players. He's a fantastic coach.

Leave him to do what he does best, and get someone who knows what they're doing in terms of recruitment to oversee that side of it. Congerton is a fraud who was brought in because he's Rodgers' pal.

 

Nobody is denying that, the way he's developed guys like Armstrong, Mcgregor, Christie, Forrest, Dembele is incredible, and i'd still be devastated if he left, but we're likely to go into tonights game with a backline weaker than the likes of aberdeen, and some simple scouting in the fullback areas could easily fix that.

It's all well and good targeting those who are first choice at Olympiacos and Atalanta, but it should be obvious there's a good chance these guys are unobtainable.

Obviously injuries play their part, but refusing to scout a CB because the current two, who are both injury prone and leaving, are too good? It's madness and might cost us in the long run.

 

You summed it up though. He’s a coach.

Having the right people that will go out and get us talent and build up our whole football structure will only be a positive.

We shouldn’t accept standing still or even going backwards because we’re scared to upset Rodgers.

 

He didnt have full control. Balotelli wasnt headhunted by Rodgers. He was one of three strikers offered to him by the board, two of which he couldnt sign.

Brendan brought him in but he's probably hampering Brendan more than anyone...including Lawwell..

We went and actually done some forward planning in signing a young talent for peanuts in Shved and Rodgers was unhappy because people were questioning what was the point of Congerton and he was out defending Congerton talking about how good a job he does...

Said he doesn’t know anyone else in Congerton’s position who gets so much stick. There’s probably a reason for that Brendan.
