Celtic have rejected a €15m opening bid from FC Porto for Olivier Ntcham

Our reliable colleagues at Goal France report that Scottish champions Celtic have rejected an initial €15m proposal from FC Porto for French midfielder Olivier Ntcham.

The offer included a sell-on percentage fee clause, with the Portuguese side expected now to make a second bid.

Celtic right now are taking a clear, hard-line position: the player is not for sale, but their resolve could be tested in the coming days as Ntcham is interested in moving to Porto and will shortly inform the Scottish side’s representatives of his desire.

Ntcham’s representatives are due to meet with Celtic today. FC Porto have set an internal deadline of getting this deal done by the end of next week.

 

At the moment that is a £13.5 offer and I would expect it to rise to about 18m euros so £16m. We paid what was it £4.5m plus add ons so it would be a big profit from a 1 year sell on but there would have to be a replacement in. The thing is he still has nearly 3 years left on his contract so we can easily sit back for a year.

I wouldn’t sell under any circumstances he’s a great player and we know exactly where the money would go, we shouldn’t be selling anyone except boyata.

 

If we are offered anything over 15 million we will sell, our board are gutless spineless * who will just see the pound signs and that will be it.

We will then be fed lies saying we did try and replace him but we couldn’t get it over the line, but we will sort it out in January......

 

That could mean he would be happy to sign for them if Celtic wanted to sell, doesn't mean he wants to leave.

Just does my head in that players of his quality would likely jump at the chance, should it arise. Because, let’s be honest, the club ain’t knocking anything over £15m back.

 

Literally just came from reading about how ntcham isnt interested in porto as he is really loving life at celtic and is relishing playing with moussa n ed ... im sick of these stories

 

It annoys me, but I don't blame him if its true. Would get more money, play in a better league and a chance in the CL.

 

What's worrying is that I can see the appeal of Porto to a 22 year old, underage international.

CL football is a huge factor and a platform for guys like Ntcham and Dembele. They have the ambition and ability to cut it at one of the top clubs in Europe and break into a WC winning squad.

 

We won’t reinvest the money, so he’s priceless.

 

Surely to * they aren't even thinking aboot selling him.
