    Competition is vital in the midfield area of the pitch..

    He can play in several central positions which is ideal really, it only takes a couple of injuries and we're relying on Bitton or Henderson to step in..

    I felt the same, his teams finishing was terrible but he played some great passes to set up chances

    Which shows just how incredible he is that he wasn't the finished article then.

    He's a better player now than he was when he was 22 i.e. he wasn't the finished article then.

    I counted 3 on the trot they showed and put them bursting through 1 on 1 but for woeful finishing (* knows how many more there were). Put Griff or Dembele through like that and only 1 thing is happening..

    I've seen people mentioning what this does for Armstrong but I don't see it that way. I'm assuming Bitton and Henderson will be sold or the latter loaned out, and McGregor will still be happy to be a squad type so another central player in the fold was needed for competition and a bit different to the other's..

    I'm excited about this guy. Just read about him doing boxing, rap and few other bit's whilst moving from Paris to Canada. Interesting..

    Celtic will be capturing one of the most exciting talents in world football when they complete the £4 million capture of Olivier Ntcham, according to his former manager at Genoa.

    The French playmaker is on the verge of completing a deal to move to Brendan Rodgers ' side and could become their marquee signing of the summer.

    Ntcham spent the past two seasons on loan to Serie A side Genoa and he left a huge impression on experienced manager Andrea Mandorlini, who was in charge of the Stadio Luigi Ferraris outfit last term

    And he was full of praise for the 21-year-old Manchester City midfielder.

    Mandorlini said: "Olivier is only a young boy - he has incredible potential and it's clear he will be a star.

    "He has extraordinary talent.

    "I have the highest regard for his talent. He's had to work hard this season and there is a lot more to come from him.

    "He is a kid who is very, very comfortable on the ball. He scored a really important goal for me last season against Bologna in injury time when he came on as a sub.

    "He works hard and he is a happy person - he's good to be around.

    "I always feel when he plays well, the whole team plays well.

    "Above all, he has shown a willingness to listen and improve. He has a big future in football if he keeps progressing."

    Ntcham moved to the Etihad Stadium club from Le Havre in a £1m deal as a 16-year-old in 2012.

    He then signed a five-year deal in 2015, before being shipped out to Genoa on loan. Ntcham made over 40 appearances for Genoa, scoring three goals.

    Now he's set to add to Celtic 's squad for their title defence as they go for seven-in-a-row.

    He won't be eligible for the games against Linfield as the deadline for 2nd rd was 6th July.

    From UEFA 2017-18 regulations for CL

    List A has to be submitted by the following fixed deadlines:
    a. 19 June 2017 (11pm) for all matches in the first qualifying round;
    b. 6 July 2017 (11pm) for all matches in the second qualifying round;
    c. 20 July 2017 (11pm) for all matches in the third qualifying round;
    d. 7 August 2017 (11pm ) for all matches in the play-offs;
    e. 1 September 2017 (11pm ) for all further matches from the first match in the group stage up to and including the final.
