Brown and Robson are never going to work in midfield. I said that before the match even.

Their style of play cannot be cohesive and expect us to maintain a flow through the central of midfield.

Crosas last week showed (i know it was 1 game and against motherwell) that he could do that. And Id prefer him or hartley over that clown scott brown any day.

Brown just doesnt fit into the system. End of.

Maybe he will become a player... but it wont be under the most arrogant ( i never make a mistake) manager we have now.

Brown played holding role and did very little wrong. We lost no goals after all and he added a lot more energy and drive than Hartley would give you. He rarely didnt find a pass. He and Caldwell both showed some leadership qualities in the rally towards the end. I think he is gradually coming on to a decent game this season for Celtic and Scotland.

To single him out tonight is strange. The players who were below par tonight were Skippy and to a less degree Maloney. As for Naka, he was featherwieght in the 1st but was superb in the 2nd (him and Brown both tend to play best late in a game).

The problem was opening them up and scoring. Now, we have Maloney. Aidan, Naka etc, more of the sort of special players who can do that than most teams could dream of. It just didnt work out and its impossible to explain other than say Alborg defended in serious depth in the 2nd half. Happens all the time. We do it to big teams in the CL ourselves.

Big picture is I feel that this is the best group of players we have had since Seville and given some clicking time will be superb (except the defence)

At the start mate you were talking as if it was a European elite team that came to parkhead and we were going to lose goals. This was meant to be the banker game that we won 2-0 or more. Now we needto win away which we say every year we will do and do we *

would playing Hartley have helped tonight. I doubt it. The problem was we lacked that bit of real class and luck at the edn of moves. One issue is we have good but not great strikers.

OK, how the * did we let 3 easy points slip away, lets face it AAb were 3 points we should have had in tha bag tonight.

    They weren't.

1st off that linesman didn't give us any joy, with a perfectly good goa ruled offside, Robson c'mon to * he hit the same penalty against St. Mirren and was lucky it went in then, same scenario tonight only the keeper got a really good touch to it and prevented the rebound, has to be his worst performance in the hoops, and was it beacuse he was playing next to brown and not hartley.....YES.

Zaza kept them in the game with suberb saves from Naka's freekicks, obviously the lad's done his homework.

Other than that if they had come at us route 1 straight through the middle we were *, you could have drove a * routemaster bus through our defence tonight.

And Brown, don't even start me on the Kenny Miller of midfield, runs about and does * all..............

In truth if Aab were a better team we'd have been licking our champions league wounds tonight, fortunately they were as * poor as we were. Ohhh and Samaras should get MOM, he was the one that made us look dangerous and capable of scoring.

    Overall poor show.

all I am saying is that like defenders and goalies a holding MF counts clean sheets, not goals scored. That role is to stop the opposition not score. Brown played that role tonight. The problem is cutting edge. I think we have the best strikers we can afford but we are financially limited and they maybe are not good enough to consistantly do it at CL level.

If you knew me at all, youd know im anything but negative. But tonight was a joke, Robson just backed up what ive said for months and no matter how fit McGeady was, he shouldve started. We failed to make chances count, and we have blown getting through to the last 16. We're never going to beat Man U or Vila away, we'll be lucky to beat Aalborg away. Diabolical.

thats closer to the nail. The issue was all in the last third tonight. What we lack is that killer pass, vision and really clever CF running into positions. Strange given the wide players we have but there it is. I think Skippy was off the boil and Samaras is good but not top class. Thats down to economics. I think we have assembled the best attacking players we can given the tightness of the club but they are not CL class.

Hindsight is 20/20, I didn't think the starting lineup was that bad. Robsons' penalty was terrible. We continue struggling to find solutions at CM... I think most of us agree WGS could have made far more astute subs.
But really... this place would be completely reversed had we won 1-0. Life goes on man... the team didn't play half as bad as everyone here seems to think. It's disappointing, but I hardly feel anywhere near disgusted as I did after the 4-2 nonsense. Now that was diabolical.

Poor starting 11 , Naka wasnt in the game untill up until the 60th min would much better been used as a sub,

Skippy was * done nothing apart from get stupid fouls away when all he had to do was keep up the pressure ,

We got what we deserved * all , They deseved there point fair play to them we should be much better than that at home disgraceful ,

We had no pace no tempo 1st half was dire and * poor and there was not one player out there to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and make it happen , The board had the chance to get the players in and spend the cash they never , if we dont make the next round its due to that ,

Yes he would have given us a bit of stability in there, which Brown does not. You seem to think we were well on top and Aalborg got lucky. That's not how it was. They matched us for long spells and caused us problems. Hartley would have helped break up their attacks, of which there were plenty.

No matter who you all think should have played, the fact is this - we do not have players of the required quality to advance in Europe. Last 16 in the CL -Aye that's a joke! We will be extremely lucky to make the UEFA Cup.

MacDonald was absolutely shocking, Nakamura did his usual European vanishing trick, Brown a poor and sad performer. There is clearly something seriously wrong at Celtic Park when MacGeady is kept on the subs bench.

Hopefully Strachan will be gone by Xmas - as will the league and CL at this rate. Bring in a manager that wants to attack and is used to winning!
