Think people are quick to be harsh on Strachan. To get things into perspective:

Our most expensive signing on the park was Scott Brown at £4 million.

Off the top of my head, Ronaldo, Rooney, Berbatov, Tevez, are all worth at least £30 million EACH!!

In that respect at Old Trafford I'm delighted we were still basically in with a shout at half time. Take away those off-side goals (i.e. give us some * luck ffs) and we may have even frustrated them even more.

Suppose the bottom line is, if we are going to try and take the big boys on at FOOTBALL rather than the old school Martin O'Neill "kick some lumps out of them + get it to Larsson" approach, then we are going to struggle away in Europe, which is why we'll be playing 4-5-1 away from home from now on...

I know what you are trying to say but I disagree.

We should just return or entry into the CL if its all about how much our players cost coz we have no chance if thats what it came down to.

As far as your MON approach. At least then we would give any team a tough game.

Remember we are Celtic since when was going in 1 down to any side a delight.

Just heard an interesting thing last night that the last time we won away from home in this champs league or european cup previously was 1986 :31: a couldnt believe that can any 1 confirm that please?????

I am a bit sick for our fans that have been goin to these games for years and the team can,t get results?? we are the only team in the champs league with the best fans in the world and wee deserve to do well in these away games and wee just can,t seem to get it right. I was pleased with the way our fans cheered on the team especially efter you heard all the man utd fans trying to roast us, they sang for 90 mins and done as proud as usual!!!!!

They are on course for the biggest run of unbeaten games in the CL...of course we should of beat them!

The are one of the best teams in the world and we are not at that standard so people need to get a grip because slating our players who are not near United standards is unfair.

I ken what your saying as well. However I think I'm being realistic here. There are games we should expect to win (for example nearly every game at home), games we should really be winning (the lesser teams away), and some games that it must be said are near impossible to win (the likes of Man U, Barca away).

In this case it was almost unwinnable, sorry to be a pessimist/realist/whatever but whats the point in calling for heads here when the task was nigh on impossible.

I would love if we had good enough players to beat Man U! dont we all, but when you look at last nights game and our seeding of pot when the group was drawn Uefa seem to have it pretty accurate.
I think playing Nakamura is the wrong option away in europe he is a good player but he does not have the pace or the physical attributes against these teams.
However it is not impossible to get another one nil win.

This is the core of the problem. I don't care how much Manchester Utd. have money, or what players do they have. We didn't try to compete. If we had tried, and lost 3-2 or something like that, that'd really mean Man. Utd are better. But this way, I only know we got scared of them. By the way, how much do bunker formations last against them? I think nobody who beat MU got that result by defending.

Ronaldo is probably worth more than Our WHOLE TEAM Put together.

Incase Strachan hasn't realised, we are the only Scottish team this season to not score in Europe, what an embarrassment. And please don't say, "look who we were against". Last season, we would have trounced Aalborg.

Caldwell was about the only player who I'd say got pass marks in the game. I can't see how replacing him with someone who is relatively inexperienced at competitive level let alone never having played in the Champions League would have helped.

Same goes for Samaras up front - he bottled the great chance he had away at Villarreal, who's to say he'd have done any better against the European Champions away.
