I'm optimistic but I'm not filled with dread. Ronaldo(nt) is probably the key again but we'll need to close down everyone. And if it's VDS in goal for them then I'm confident he wouldn't want to be facing another Naka free kick :icon_mrgreen:

Last time we went down there we gave them a * fright, they should be more wary of us. Always fear the underdogs :50:

I've a wee feeling we're going to go

    -------------Boruc

    Wilson..Loovens..McManus--Naylor

    ------------Caldwell

    -----Brown-----------Robson

    McGeady-----------------Nakamura
    -------------Maloney

I think WGS will be looking for a bit of height to deal with Vidic and Ferdinand which is why the 3 centre backs will feature if fit of course.

i dont think we need to worry too much about rooney, everyone (english press)are raving about him cus of his perfromances of late, but realistically look at the defences he has come up against.... Kazakstan, Belarus and West Brom, hardly world beaters so big mick to have him in his back pocket :50:

    Evra to miss Celtic match

Manchester United's Patrice Evra will miss Tuesday's Champions League clash against Celtic with a hamstring injury.
John O'Shea is set to come in for the French full-back at Old Trafford.

glad he's missing, o shea wont be able to attack as much which will stop ronaldo being able to double up with him on the left wing

Anderson can also play left back , Giggs has played there in the past too , Really does not make a differance unless Ronaldo ,Nani , etc Rooney are all out then we have a chance saying that there kids would rape our defence ,

Major bonus guy's, don't under-estimate how good Evra is.....we wouldn't have been able to cope with his pace coming forward never mind how good he is defensively. He played his part in Ronaldo turning from a sand dancing youngster to a goal scoring maestro as well.

looks like john o'shea will play left back as he came on for evra on saturday. Celtic should take advantage of this by playing mcgeady on the right

We should play offensively, to keep their star players forced to help the defense, and hope Naka has his FK boots on.

On the plus side, Ronaldo may not play in the match.

Taken from an article on BBC Sport:

"And manager Sir Alex Ferguson may rest Ronaldo as he wants him to fully recover from a summer ankle operation.
After a conversation with former United assistant and current Portugal boss Carlos Queiroz, Ferguson is tempted to let Nani loose on Celtic instead.
"Carlos feels Cristiano is still finding it hard to recover from a Saturday game to a Wednesday," said Ferguson.
"I need to look at this game - and the fact it is on a Tuesday - and assess whether to bring in Nani."
