Whatever happened to innocent until proved guilty?

Also is the action taken not just a tad excessive?

    Apparently being the operative word.

And are we taking Celtic's word for it?

It's hardly criticism, it's him sticking the knife into those who stuck up for him most yet again.

No idea mate. If it is, then we should be afforded the same rights as the local teams. However, if it is illegal, then we deserve punishment.

It is * ridiculous that this was the the top story on stv news there with everything thats going on in scotland just now that the media make this their top story tonight when there has been murders took place, scum found guilty of murdering their own child and all the other things that have been happening in scotland that they chose to less newsworthy than Celtic fans behaviour in italy.

Obviously we knew that it would be reported on but come on to * is displaying a banner and setting off a flare in Italy really that important news that is reported on before and for longer than Murder etc. :31:

They've released the guy's name to the press?

Wow - consulted the legal team on that one did you, Peter?

Do you know what - I do believe I'm in the process of being radicalised.

Uneasiness with the club's stance is rapidly turning to anger.

All celtic supporters stuck up for Lennon, and most of those supporters don't unfurl "* UEFA" banners in European away games. Supporting Lennon doesn't give you entitlement to his support no matter what you do. That's a very childish mindset.

Sorry, since when did Celtic spread its * cheeks for UEFA and the SFA?

    Cowardly bullshit.

It's such radicalisation we should be resisting. Discontent with the board is something that should be dealt with concentrated protest. Not by immitating Ross Connolly (if indeed he is guilty - which remains to be seen)

You come across on here as everything that is wrong within a very small minority of our support.

I'm guessing you condone the attack on the steward?

I'm absolutely dreading going to the St. Johnstone game now. I wonder what protest our noble warriors will devise because the board were unhappy that a 'fan' attacked a Celtic employee.

Seen Lennon compared to a 'hun' on here earlier. Madness.

    Fixed that for you.

This guy has been arrrested by Italian police, so this is a legal situation we're talking about - and Celtic have released his name to the press!

That's the issue. People are supporting his right to a fair trial without having his name blackened in the media beforehand - by our own club.

You're right, Hand. However posting 'Ross Connolly CSC' definitely DOES NOT come across as supporting his right to fair trial. It comes across as 'Celtic fan = automatically innocent'. To quote MON - 'shocking'.

I know what you're saying, but to hit out with "Ross Connolly CSC" suggests a lack of common decency on the part of the poster, as there is every chance that an innocent steward was attacked, simply because some fans are * off with UEFA.

Completely moronic of those individuals to have that banner. That’s the same UEFA that fully supported us in the Sion case. It’s already been said but we shouldn’t be looking for support from UEFA any time soon.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

To me it seems the "* UEFA" brigade are just trying to seem victimized by finding any minor perceived injustice towards them, which in effect takes the discussion away from the fact that their behavior is openly condemned by Lennon, Celtic and UEFA. Furthermore, the "* UEFA" brigade bring up words like "cowardice" and "submission to UEFA" when describing Celtic's stance on the issue. This implies that there is great honour at stake and Celtic have acted with great dishonour. This, of course, is delusional. We come under the authority of UEFA. If we want to participate in European competitions, we abide by their rules and we certainly DON'T unfurl "* UEFA" banners in European games. It's a simple matter of abiding by rules (which aren't unfair rules) and simple etiquette. The minority of Celtic supporters aren't defending some noble cause, they are behaving like children. End of story.

UEFA didn't support us, they just enforced their rules.

100% correct. As I've said before, the fine should have been the end of the matter and all parties should have moved on after UEFA made their decision.

Now, because of the actions of a couple of morons in our travelling support, the whole club and our support has come under even more media scrutiny.

I would love for someone to tell me what the "* UEFA" banner actually achieved, other than bringing more unnecessary attention on to our supporters.

If we had sung * UEFA there would've been * all said about this! FACT
