I thought we missed Captain Telfer and Tommy G last night
At least Telfer delivers some good balls into the box, and Nakamura
was a shadow of the player he usually is, without Telfer.
We got lucky last night...end of story..:87:

Telfer playing over wilson no way. Wilson will be more fit and back in-game experience why telfer I can see tripping over himself

We didn't miss Telfer. Wilson did far better than Telfer would have done. We also missed Beattie. We lost the ball so many times because of Miller's touch..

He cant control on the first touch. and he cant do anything on the last. which illustrates why miller is pointless to us

He gave the ball to Milan at least 3 times because of his first touch, in only the first half.

he didnt do so bad last night, other than the cross he screwed up(the ball was behind him)he played pretty solid. He was the best option we had available. The team played worse when jarosik came on.

I was surprised by how poor Wilson's crossing was. He put in poor balls in a number of occasions. I'm sure WGS will have him practicing in training because the was WGS sets up the team requires the fullbacks to put in dangerous balls. But he's very strong defensively and that's what i prefer in my defenders.

Miller was also poor. He just looks like a player whose confidence is gone. He doesn't believe he'll score at the moment. If Beattie could stay fit for 5 minutes then there's no way he'd be anywhere near the team.

I feel the result last night could well be enough for us to go through in this tie. We didn't watch a game where our players played to their best but we kept a clean sheet against a very well equipped A.C side. I honestly think that after the players matched upn to A.C for 90 mins, they now might belive that if they raise their game they could progress further. All we need is to score and avoid defeat and we'll be through. I know people will bring up our away record and all that, but thats in the past and all the players need to think about is the future. IF we play to our best Milan are there for the taking!

I thought Wilson's crossing was utterly pants. For the last twenty minutes the guy looked dead on his feet. Imagining the same scenario in Italy is worrying to say the least. He's going to have to work twice as hard. I thought Telfer has had a few decent games for us in Europe so far and he seems to link well with Naka on the left.

In the second leg we need to get a grip of Kaka. That boy can certainly play and he was at the heart of everything Milan created last night. Sno/Lennon showed him too much respect. At times he was allowed to waltz around the middle of the park with nobody challenging him and when he got in and around the box Mcmanus and O'Dea were happy to stand off him.

    I agree
Both Wilson and Miller were atrocious
And JVOH did not look fit..

I would only give Boruc past marks on last night's performance :50:

Quite frankly, it was the worst performance I have seen from Celtic
in a long time at home.

The Milan goalkeeper could have lit a cigar and had a coffee throughout the game..:84:

I thought the centrehalfs had a good game. O'Dea was outstanding considering he's had what, 5 starts maybe? Sno i thought was probably our best player. We worked well as a defensive unit. But it just shows that we need to buy at least one more striker (preferably 2) and a winger in the summer. Miller and Magic need to be shipped out.

apart from one save so could Boruc. 9 out of 10 of this touches last night were bread and butter tidy up work.

To be honest, Kenny was poor last nght (as were half of the team). Kenny has his flaws but even by his standards his head is really down. He looked like a man who has hardly played any football in 3 months, which he is. He showed what he can do at top form briefly earler this season and IMO he is a player at that peak level but he needed to find that a good chunk of the time. I think what he needs now is a long run of games and/ or a flurry of goals or else he will continue in a downward spiral. He can be a lot better than his last couple of showings suggest. Until recently most of us were agreed that its just his lack of goals that the big problem but now he is so down and played so seldom that his outfield play, touch etc is really poor too. I dont think WGS will play him in the majority of games and, as he is a confidence player, that pretty well will doom him. I think this all hinged on his injury that ended his good run and it could have been very different but I think WGS has made his mind up.

indeed he is not good enough and we don't need him, that's why he will be replaced at the end of the season (hopefully)

    Some perspective:

Wilson has only been back as couple of weeks from a long lay off and has missed most of the season

O'Dea is 20 and has only played a handfull of matches with Mick.

    Sno is 19

Lenny and Sno have only played together from the start a couple of times before

Aidan is not long back form an injury and has hardly played for months

Miller has only started one game for two or three moths

    JVOH was not fit

Its a miracle that we even got a draw. Every week we are playing in new combinations with players on the comeback trail. There is no way we could have excelled in terms of performance this season with the injuries we have had and what WGS has achieved in these cirumstances is a miracle.
