From what i've heard Seria A is to be stopped for 2 weeks, matches will then resume as normal..behind closed doors.

Do you honestly think Inter & Ac Will be banned from the Champions League?

Do not underestimate the power of Uefa and the power of the TV companies which will demand the giants of Italy will be playing, plus the fact that Ac's only chance to get back into the champions league next season is to win the Champions League.Silvio Berlesconi will be using all his contacts in the goverment to ensure that this match gets the go-ahead.

So in sumation.........move along now, nothing to see here!

i think that there is a real possibility of the italian teams being withdrawn/banned from all competition. a precedent has been set with feyenoord getting banned for crowd trouble. usually we dont get a fair crack of the whip from uefa.( think rapid vienna ) so maybe now this time we get the benefit and take the bye onto the next round. though i accept its in crappy circumstances.

just posted on a milan forum

Big articles all over the Italian media in the last few minutes. Games could resume this coming weekend (depends on the results of a Wednesday meeting), but it sounds like stadiums that don't meet safety standards per the Pisanu Decree will remain closed (ie, teams that play there play to empty stadiums). [note: the San Siro does not fully comply with the Pisanu Decree measures]. Also included in discussion: banning the selling of blocks of tickets to away fans

    Seems they don't need me

SAN SIRO: 28 TURNSTILES BY TOMORROW

    2/9/2007

Milan’s sport and security assessor Giovanni Terzi said that ‘everything is being done to allow at least the season ticket holders into the San Siro. We are installing 28 turnstiles on the old perimeter in order to allow at least 50,000 people to enter on Sunday.’

I don't see why it should be played at a neutral venue, it kinda ruins the whole thing...Milan's 'ultras' haven't had an incident like that one since 1995..There a tame bunch generally.. Nobody got hurt (at least i don't think so) in the last CL derby where Dida got struck by a flare, so i can't see anything happening if it's played at the San Siro.
If anybody's got Setanta, which i'd say is a fare few as it shows SPL, Milan play sunday..not sure what time, might be good just to see what you're going to go up against.

They dont have the guts to chuck AC or Inter out! Anyone else (apart from some) would be thrown out full stop. Look at feyenoord?

The problem is that AC would sue the pants off of UEFA as they have not been directly involved in the violence. It's all over stupid ticket sales.

They don't have the guts to throw out any La Liga, EPL or Serie A top teams. Remember, big leagues, big money. Especially a team like Milan..I love how this is overshadowing the exact same problem with Inter. Proves who's the bigger team.
