    My prediction is....

That all Italian teams will drop out of European football this season and we get a bye into the quarter finals.

    Milan rocked by injuries

Milan have suffered a double blow after Pippo Inzaghi and Nelson Dida picked up injuries in their Coppa Italia semi-final with Roma.

The Rossoneri have been plagued by injuries this season and their problems are not easing after 3-1 loss.

Dida has picked up a shoulder knock just weeks after he made his Serie A comeback, following a two-month lay-off because of knee ligament damage.

The Brazilian has undergone a preliminary examination and is set to be out for at least a month, although pessimistic reports suggest that the goalkeeper’s season may be over.

The No 1, who has yet to sign a new contract with the Rossoneri, fell on his shoulder after making a fine save from Daniele De Rossi. He’ll undergo more tests over the next few days.

Marco Storari, who joined the club from Messina last month, may now make his debut against Ascoli at the weekend.

Turning to Inzaghi, the striker limped off the Olimpico turf just 14 minutes after coming on as a substitute for Massimo Ambrosini.

The No 9 suffered a muscle strain which may keep him in the treatment room for three or four weeks.

Milan will visit Celtic on February 20 in the Champions League and Coach Carlo Ancelotti is desperate to have him back for that last 16 clash.

The Rossoneri only have Inzaghi, Alberto Gilardino and Ricardo Oliveira available in attack for Europe as Ronaldo is Cup-tied.

if as is the case today, the serie a is suspended indefinately does it put our champs league game in doubt,
how can uefa gaurantee tic supporters safety if they cant do the same for their own police force,
we could end up in a war like situation, having to defend ourselves if the police cant stop it.:87:

Celtic and the Scottish Football Association will be monitoring developments in Italy after football in the country was suspended indefinitely.
The action was taken after a police officer, named as 38-year-old Filippo Raciti, was killed during serious trouble at last night's Sicilian derby between Catania and Palermo.
The FIGC, who are the governing body of Italian football, called an immediate cessation of all football in the country.
Italian players' association president Sergio Campana claimed the suspension should last for up to a year, to allow for a proper solution to the problems of violence to be found.
Italy's national team had been due to play Romania in Siena on Wednesday but that game - and the under-21 fixture against Belgium in Chieti on Tuesday - will not go ahead as things stand.
Celtic are due to host AC Milan in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on February 20, with the return leg in Italy a fortnight later, and Scotland are scheduled to face the Italians in a Euro 2008 qualifier on March 28.
Those matches could now be affected if the FIGC and Italian government decide to abandon all football activities on a long-term basis.
The Italian Olympic Committee have called an emergency meeting for Sunday morning, and the Italian Football League's board will convene on Tuesday to reflect on the tragedy.
An official from lower league club Sammartinese also died at a game last weekend, after being caught up in a fight.
Players' chief Campana said: "A one-day postponement is not enough.
"We must reflect. We cannot accept episodes of violence every single weekend just because someone plays badly. I've been in football many years, but I've never experienced such a tragic week

Is there a chance Milan may be chucked out the CL?

Yeah, there is. Considering all football is banned from Italy, they might get booted, like Feyenoord. But it could just be Serie A is banned, but there is a chance they get chucked. Same with Inter Milan.

Milan are not responsible for the violence yesterday, nor Inter. They wont be chucked from the CL, it would be met with lawsuits by the two clubs.
