    <ins style="display:inline-table;border:none;height:60px;margin:0;padding:0;position:relative;visibility:visible;width:468px"></ins> Roll of Honour

    Read the Roll of Honour
    For Ireland's bravest men
We must be united in memory of the ten,
England you're a monster, don't think that you have won
We will never be defeated while Ireland has such sons.
In those dreary H-Block cages ten brave young Irishmen lay
Hungering for justice as their young lives ebbed away,
For their rights as Irish soldiers and to free their native land
They stood beside their leader - the gallant Bobby Sands.
Now they mourn Hughes in Bellaghy,
    Ray McCreesh in Armagh's hills
In those narrow streets of Derry they miss O'Hara still,
They so proudly gave their young lives to break Britannia's hold
Their names will be remembered as history unfolds.
Read the roll of honour for Ireland's bravest men
We must be united in memory of the ten,
England you're a monster, don't think that you have won
We will never be defeated while Ireland has such sons.
Through the war torn streets of Ulster the black flags did sadly sway
To salute ten Irish martyrs the bravest of the brave,
Joe McDonnell, Martin Hurson, Kevin Lynch, Kieran Doherty
They gave their lives for freedom with Thomas McElwee.
Michael Devine from Derry you were the last to die
With your nine brave companions with the martyred dead you lie
Your souls cry out "Remember, our deaths were not in vain.
Fight on and make our homeland a nation once again!"

I just don't see why not? It's a rebel song, Celtic are and Irish rooted club made to help family's and bring to light the troubles in Ireland. So why not sing these rebel songs to keep in light what has happened instead of it not being mentioned and swepped under the rug.

What's the difference with singing it at home or at a match? Do Celtic not play 'Let The People Sing' at games? Which lyrics are "Our musichas survivedthrough famine and oppression. To the generation gone I'll sing for you this song."

Sounds to me that sums up the fact they would perhaps want the support to sing there Rebel/Irish songs

well surely the fact that we're talking about it, and the fact that rebel songs are sung by the majority of celtic fans that regularly attend away games suggest it is the majority? im not sure if you attend games or watch them on tv, but surely you would be able to hear a very vocal supprt singing rebel songs, no? does that not suggest a majority of fans who are attending the games support the singing of these songs?

For those who are in love
    There's a song that's warm and tender
    For those who are oppressed
    In song you can protest

    So liberate your minds
    And give your soul expression
    Open up your hearts
I'll sing for you this song

Let the people sing their stories and their songs
And the music of their native land

Their lullabies and battlecries and songs of hope and joy
So join us hand in hand
    All across this ancient land
    Throughout the test of time
It was music that kept their spirits free
Those songs of yours and of mine

It was back in ancient times
The bard would tell his stories
Of the heroes, of the villain
Of the chieftains in the glen
    Through Elizabethian time
    And Cromwellian war and fury
Put our pipers to the sword
Killed our harpers and our bards

Let the people sing their stories and their songs
And the music of their native land
Their lullabies and battlecries and songs of hope and joy
So join us hand in hand
    All across this ancient land
    Throughout the test of time
It was music that kept their spirits free
Those songs of yours and of mine

    Ireland, land of song
    Your music lives forever
In its valleys, in its mountains
In its hills and in its glens
    Our music did survive
    Through famine and oppression

    To the generations gone
I'll sing for you this song

Let the people sing their stories and their songs
And the music of their native land
Their lullabies and battlecries and songs of hope and joy
So join us hand in hand
    All across this ancient land
    Throughout the test of time
It was music that kept their spirits free
Those songs of yours and of mine

i have to agree. if find this a really important point. it would seem the democratic majority support the songs, so those in the minority do not have to like it, but should respect it.

It's all about a matter of opinion.

The old saying goes, "One man's terrorist, is another man's freedom fighter."

As long as that argument lives on, then you cannot ask people to stop supporting anything. I for one will not be wearing a poppy or holding myself back from a fly "* the queen" to keep "Ra peepo" content.

'Rule Brittania' , '* Save The Queen'

Two songs which are sung at football games - nothing to do with football, and not deemed 'sectarian' or 'offensive' by governing bodies.
