Mystic we know fine well what the club means when they call for an end to the chanting that some people may find offensive, to pretend you don't means you're either stupid, which I don't think you are, or you're just being willfully ignorant to suit your own agenda.

You want people to respect your beliefs and right to sing whatever you want, while at the same time refuse to respect the wishes of our own club and manager that we profess to love.

No it isn't they could be referring to anything. The clubs wants everyone to sit down during games does that happen?

i don't think the club meant rebel songs. i think songs like "roamin' in the gloamin'" and "stokes dad hates the queen" are songs which the club were implying, even though these are not sectarian, although this just shows you the uncertainty of it all.

They were probably referring to the Hearts game when we were chanting PIRA and singing Go On Home British Soldiers. It was epic to be honest.

Peter Lawwell has said 'up the RA' must go.

    Fair enough.

But I will never stop singing BOTOB.

This is what is annoying. As obvious as it may seem the club needs to clarify what they deem what is and what isn't acceptable.

Hundreds of fans have asked for a definitive list of songs/chants that aren't acceptable and to date there hasn't been one published.

this is simple. those who don't want to sing them- don't- sing something else. if it was indeed the case that a majority don't want them, then we won't hear them. in my opinion a majority want them, they are not sectarian, they are not offensive, and they will be here long after we're all gone. celtic have not been punished in the past for singing, and there has been nothing to suggest this will change in the future.

    I think it's closer to a 50/50 split.

Start a poll. I reckon it'll be close.

The way I see it is if the majority didn't want Rebel songs we wouldn't be able to sing them. If your doing nothing to stop us then your actively supporting us. Thank you.

i don't think a poll on talkceltic will give us the most accurate of results.

More would say they wouldn't want them but this website doesn't speak for the season ticket holders or the away fans.

There are still away fans and season ticket holders on here though, and they're all still Celtic fans. I agree that a poll on TC won't be accurate of the entire support but it would give a rough indication.

Using that logic, I assume you both support the huns right to sing TFS and BB?

I doubt it would. I highly doubt the people I have been arguing with for the past few months attend games week in week out.
