Short memories for folk. People need to go look at the RBL game again. It’s one of the most perfect lone striker performances I’ve seen for us.

 

It was mostly because that was an open game though and he was able to fall into the left wing position and roast their defenders down the wing with his pace and dribbling when he had a little space.

His best spell of form for us was the last 2/3 months of last season when Dembele was fit and he played off Dembele with McGregor and was mostly coming from the left wing area. It gave him someone to link-up with him playing ahead of him and allowed him to roam more successfully in behind.

Now if he is to play his natural game coming from deeper theres nobody up front. He also doesn't hold the ball up well in the centre of the park when left up front alone like Dembele could as Dembele was better in the air and stonger with his back to goal, Edouard isn't that good in the air and he's more of a dribbler - when he gets the ball he tries to dribble and run his way out of trouble and into space but when you have 2/3 guys round you it's near impossible to get away from them on your own. Dembele could just back into guys while holding it there and then shrug them off to turn and make a pass once someone had got up near him.

I hate Guidetti but if we could take him on loan in January i'd bring him back as he offers a similar style of play to Dembele where he is strong in possession with his back to goal, decent in the air, stays higher up the pitch and in the box and is ok on the ball - he would do a similar job for us in the League.

 

He was shockin against Hibs, he owes the fans a performance tonight.

 

The whole team owes us a performance. Hate this singling out pish when we lose, unless it’s a horrific mistake that loses us the game.

Been waiting for this ever since it was announced Griff would be gone for a while. If he's out until the break we are effed. Summer transfer window coming back to haunt us.

 

Hopefully just felt a little tweak and came off as a precaution. Fingers crossed nothing serious.

 

I'd still expect us to take 9 points before the break with or without him.

Hopefully it's just a precaution and he plays. If not we'll see who is right.
