That's where Jota started the majority of his games last season.

Yeah but he was better on the left. He was moved to the right to accommodate Maeda. We've already signed 2 right wingers we desperately need a left one

I was of the opinion we would actually spend on what was needed in what's left of the window because we have seen how it plays out if we don't but if we're genuinely planning on replacing Jota with Paddy Roberts then we could be in for a long long long season

I'd argue explosiveness is far more important than pace. More often than not, players are attempting to blow by their opponent instead of beating them in a race. The more size you add the less explosive/mobile you become. Rule of thumb is footballers are either short and explosive or tall and strong. Can't have it both ways. Asking for a tall and explosive winger is like asking for prime Cristiano Ronaldo. Players who fit that mold are very hard to find.

    So unimaginative and uninspiring..

Decent wee player who was excellent here but come on....let's move on. There's a big world of players out there and better ones for us currently..

Developing the young players to win the lowland league?

Because there is * all chance they will get a fair shot at the first team squad.

Well not really, Ola Solbakken is available and would fit the mould very well of a physical pacey winger who is creative and can score.

Are we actually linked with Roberts or is it just a suggestion?

As mentioned previously the pressure on the manager to play young players consistently if it goes wrong is huge as people want signings etc. Apart from Doak who’s been good enough to consistently break into the team and play?

who’s been good enough recently to play week in week out from the youth team recently other than Doak? Lowland League is a ok standard to start out for some of them if good enough loan then out and see how they perform.

What the * are the scouting department doing if Paddy Roberts is genuinely being considered. Do they not update their database?

I would take him. Only 26 and been here, done it. Been away and got more experience.

Pacey ≠ explosive. The way I see it, the latter is far more important for the reason I mentioned above. Think of Usain Bolt or any other tall sprinter. He was beating everyone in a sprint, but he was usually dead last in acceleration.

There is a big gap and spectrum of game time from the near * all time the youth get now to "play week in week out".

Guys like Vata and summers should be getting on for the last 15 minutes of games, specially so if we are winning by a few goals, then even 30mins.

They should be starting one of them against lower opponents (cup games or relegation sided), not 3-4 at a time, but one of them at least should get a chance.

We don't bother with that at all.
We now play on the excuse of if they play 5 times for the seniors then they don't get back to the B squad.

You know what? It's blatantly obvious that at times some of them need to be in and around the first team, rather than playing 30 games against part timers. Why we prioritise their development and time to the B squad over progression and path way to the first team is baffling.
