Apparently going to Feyenoord for only 8 mill why are we not in on that

 

Cause we don't want to spend cash by looks of it, only thing I can think of is we are prioritising building barrowfield over the team or keep cash in case the class action goes against us and our insurance isn't substantial enough to cover damages

 

Hes been linked with them all summer by the looks of it. Don't think he's there yet

 

If he chooses to go there, it won’t be for our lack of trying.

 

I seen someone on X say we had 2 guys who could fly in on same jet but it was now too difficult as Rodgers has taken so long to make his mind up and the recruitment team are * off

 

Think it's easy to blame Rodgers for everything, was always a danger for him returning.. if we don't sort things out, with some decent signings and performances don't improve quickly and drastically, it could get toxic very quickly..

Well someone get him told to bring said two guys and pick another two up yo come with them.

This full thing about waiting on EPL seems absolutely crazy. For one or maybe even two players but we really need about 4 players minimum but could be doing with up to 6 in and have left it to now so will undoubtedly not be getting them.

 

We knew he was a nightmare in the transfer market. Its been like that everywhere he's been. The recruitment team can throw as many names as they want at him but if he wants to wait and see what comes up in England then that's what will happen.

 

It lasted 2 hours because people chose to believe the person that brought it to us. The same person that has called nothing correctly.

 

Right type of player from the right type of market, at a price we can pay. If we had moved a few back, could we have got him...of course that's if we were interested.

But def the markets we should be looking to.

Yep I was very emphatic about how poor Rodgers has been in the market at 3 different clubs. But all I heard back was excuses for his poor record at Liverpool, Leicester and us.

Rodgers is back and all of a sudden we've had the worst window in years. So where does the blame lie? I was led to believe that Nicholson and Lawwell were the guys who were running things and the reason for our positive windows in recent years. But all of a sudden they look incompetent. It really does seem like Ange's influence over proceedings was the reason we had a semblance of success in the market all along.

If we have 4 new first team starters this time next week then I'll hold my hands up and give credit to Rodgers/Nicholson/Lawwell. But how likely does that look at this stage.

 

Or that Ange was more decisive and didn't care about signing players from EPL

 

Ange's over-reliance on asian markets was beginning to grate on me, but I still had faith that his eye for a player. Rodgers' hard on for the EPL is tedious and unrealistic - surely he knows this?

That still doesn't account for Nicholson and Lawwell's inactivity though. Which begs the question, who was really pulling the strings in the last two years?

Forget the EPL punts and do some proper scouting. There must be loads of players in Europe and Scandinavia that would instantly improve us who wouldn't cost much. Even that Cifuentes would have been a good buy. Early days but he does look like the type of midfielder that we needed.

The lack of ambition is frightening. We seem terrified to pay a little extra for better players. Still operating within the same wage structure as 20 years ago and still terrified to break our transfer record without the comfort blanket of a loan first. It stinks of penny pinching and/or lack of bravery in the market.

 

I think it was also starting to go a wee bit * up too if we look at Yuki and Iwata.

Granted I still think there may be something there with Iwata but he hasn't proven himself thus far.

 

Iwata looked a good punt on paper but he's just been a roided version of Ideguchi so far.

The Kobiyashi signing reeked of arrogance. He should have known be wasn't going to cut it and getting rid of Jenz who was perfectly fine for him was a ridiculous decision.

 

I'd like to see Iwata play more in midfield.
