Entire support was a figure of speech, I know others did back him.

My point is the domestic football under Strachan just wasn't great to watch.

Agreed tbh. But he got us to the * last 16 in the CL two years in a row, so I'd say he did alright

just making a point.we haven't been consistently entertaining since MON in my opinion.tbh only him and tommy burns teams have been good for most of a season in my lifetime probably.centenary team as well under Caesar.maybe we expect too much.might just be depressed

No arguments here against that. Again I was one of very few people that stood up for him right up until it was apparent his time was up.

There was a clamour for 'a Celtic man' replacing him for about 2 years before Moebray came in. People forget that.

Strachan is 10x the manager than this clown, the fact he got us to the last 16 of the CL with a back 4 of Telfer, Heid, McManus and Naylor, says it all for me

This! Plus the fact the wage bill was reduced and the debt reduced from £25m, post MON to around £5m when he left. Brilliant achievement and would be brilliant to have him back.

got to be honest, this last 16 patter annoys me a bit.if that's what we are aspiring to we're better in being in the europa league.why enter a competition to be 16th best?

Then we can stick with Ronnie because he won't take us that far. Maybe he loses the CL qualifiers on purpose him being a winner:icon_mrgreen:

Because reaching the last 16 in the CL is probably more money than reaching the final in EL. And no one, bar the teams in the competion, actually care about the EL, and even some of them can hardly be arsed. The best part of winning the EL is that you get a guaranteed spot in CL the following season.

Its a bit like not wanting to win a lower league and not get promoted so you can win it again.

benfica have finished below us twice and went on to have good runs in the europa.now they automatically go into group stage of champs league.

That's a horribly argument :smiley-laughing002:. The difference between us and Benfica is that they are playing in a pretty decent league, where first place guarantees a spot in the CL. Whilst we are stuck in the SPFL with three qualification rounds
