Why are those the only two options?

I think it is a bit naive to believe you can replace an imperfect democracy by a perfect democracy in an area surrounded by dictatorships.

Again, I believe Israel has a right to defend itself, but the recent acts are acts of aggressions (which cannot be justified).

So we could sign a rapist or a child molester then? As long as he's only judged on his football alone we'll be fine?

For those that do not like Biton because of his nationality. What was your opinion on Allen McKnight? He comes from the unionist community which have oppressed the nationalist population in the 6 counties for many years. We have more reason to detest him as many of the people oppressed by his community were Celtic supporters.

What also of the countless English players whose country have committed numerous atrocities in Ireland. If Biton is not welcome then neither should Hopper, Sutton etc.

The area is surrounded by dictatorships for precisely the same reason that Israel exists: constant western interference. Israel is a Jewish state in a multi-ethic region running an apartheid regime, that is illegitimate by definition IMO and they have to run an apartheid regime to maintain a Jewish state because Palestinian birthrates are so much higher than Jewish ones. Does such a state have a right to exist? No one wants to see it replaced by a dictatorship, but if the political will is there a democracy with a secular constitution represwnting jews and muslims alike is entirely possible.

I'm sure the men who founded our club would want us to turn a blind eye to genocide in Palestine because it's happening to another people, eh?

You're going to allow the law to be the judge of right and wrong?!!!!
You live in a country where it's legal to manufacture and sell arms that kill and maim innocent people, but illegal to smoke weed in your own home.

Would you not sign someone who came from a country that contained rapists and child molesters?

Biton supporting his nation, seriously who would have thought it.

International politics have no place in Football.

If certain people feel so strongly for Palestine then, quit your job, leave your family and take up arms and let Celtic Park continue as a place to support your team not impose your political views on others.

Last time I checked that was very far from what Celtic are all about.

Why discuss the situation in Palestine in the Biton thread then? This thread resembles H&P rather than Celtic Chat. Why is this the case?

Maybe because the Jews were Christ's killers. :86:
And Palestinians are attacking the Jews.
