Watched it again on the highlights, thought it was a sending off at the game and seeing it back left me with no doubt. Reckless challenge.

Initially I thought foul and possibly yellow but having seen the replay now I feel he did deserve the red unfortunately. Real shame as he is a player that I wanted to watch to see what kind of potential he has.

I think rash is the best word to describe it. He was unlucjy, one of those all or nothing tackles. Unfortunately it was nothing

It was a straight red for me. Reckless, sliding in with studs showing, automatic dismissal, now if Brown had done that he would have been pillored. Said before the game we needed to keep eleven men on the pitch to have any chance, thank * it was with just two minutes to go but still led to an Ajax goal. Lenny said no complaints with the red, and I think he will have to have a word with the whole team on club discipline for the future big games coming up.

Nir came off the pitch looking a wee bit sheepish and Lenny told him to get his * * up the tunnel :smiley-laughing002:

I think it was mor that he just wasnt up to the pace of the game yet having only been on a couple of minutes without touching the ball. He was unlucky.

It was never a red card.

Anyone who watched the replay and thinks it was a two footed challenge needs to get their eyes tested.

    Or stop inbreeding. lol.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought they needed their eyes tested.

It was a rush of blood to the head, mistimed tackle. It did no harm to his opponent who almost touched one of the flagpoles at the top of Celtic Park with his dive and it wasn't 2 footed. It was never a straight red in a million years.

It was a straight red all day long in Europe.

At the game I never thought it was a red and was shocked again but on TV the studs were slightly up although there looked to be minimal to no contact.

There is no consistency though. There was at least one similar tackle, I think it was Lustig on their keeper and he never even got booked.

Plus the ref was letting allsorts go all night. I was stunned when he pulled the red out as it was so out of character for the rest of his performance.

It was a reckless tackle though.

It was a reckless tackle...the Ref was * hopeless, though.

Big Fraz spotted the ball for a goal kick, moved back and gestured to the team where it was going...the ref warned him for time wasting....it was literally 30 seconds....think of some of the * we have seen at CP in the CL :smiley-laughing002:

I thought a yellow was deserved consequence even after seeing the replay - a bit over-enthusiastic but nothing injury threatening. Since the Ref had seem to have forgotten his yellow card previously (except for the ridiculous theatre at the penalty) it was especially shocking for me.
Comparison to Brown's? Brown is a lot older (and SHOULD know better) and made a conscious vindictive swing at Neymar - Biton's was just a poor mis-timed challenge but in flow of the game.
Brown is much more guilty than Biton if drawing comparisons - yet NL defends his captain and perhaps a bit critical of the young boy.

And the * was deal with Ref insisting on the substitution HAVING to be made?

Some amount of greetin-faced * on here these days.

Never a red card in it's life.
