His game isn't about 'getting stuck in', that's a pretty old fashioned view about what a DM should do. He's there to keep possession and shield through positioning. Can't judge someone on something they're not supposed to have to do.

One of our best players this season. You won't see a better midfield performance at Celtic Park than his against Inter for a long time. Sublime in that game, never lost the ball.

Only ones that come close in recent memory are Brown at home to Benfica (0-0) and Wanyama home to Barca (2-1)

Can't remember that Brown one but I was at the Barca game and that thought came to me during the Inter game. I've been deliberating what was better.

Surely the Wanyama one. Much better team, bags a goal and shuts out the best player in the world at his prime.

Kind of different players but play the same position. Wanyama is much stronger but Bitton's range of passing is incredible.

Bitton was by far the best player on the park the other week though.

Very difficult to compare as Barcelona were absolutely all over us for 90 minutes whereas we were the better side against Inter at CP

I can see what you're saying with regards to keeping possession and shielding through positioning, they are important for a DM, but don't agree that he shouldn't get stuck in. Everyone on the pitch should be willing to put their body on the line for the team and even more so a central midfielder. Do you think it's acceptable for him to pull out of 50/50's, or not impose himself physically at all on his opponents?

I say that but he's actually improved with these things lately, and I think he's been our best player of late.

It's the term 'stuck in', I don't want him to be flying into challenges, especially as our deepest DM, that would leave us exposed. Although, I feel he still goes for challenges where necessary. Much like a Busquets or Matic, he is imposing with his positional awareness and stature.

    Everything went through him, everything.

Can see why Ronny left him deep at the end still, cause Virgil was off and denayer was out right, we needed a player to start our moves and he was fantastic, still think he should have been pushed further up..

Hope he's not out long. He's probably our best player.

Really hope he'll be fine for the cup final. He's become a key player for us.

We lost any sort of control in the midfield early when he moved back to defence and Johansen had to slot in beside Broony. I think that had a huge negative impact on us in the first half.

Vital for us that he's fit and ready for next week.

Biton is a brilliant player, one of our best. Its sad though that when Mulgrew is back Biton will be on the bench.
