Looking forward to seeing him play … feels like we’ve not had a natural proper right winger for ages. Abadas more of an inside forward, Yangs raw as * and probably better on the left and Forrest seems done now.

Think his assist stats would be much higher if his team mates could even kick their own arses … some absolute sitters missed in those highlight videos :56: I don’t think I would ever sleep again had I missed that 2 vs 1 with the keeper

Haven't seen this guy play. But what I read on the transfermarkt.de forum he is a very pur finisher who can't convert the many chances he creates/gets. It also sounds like he has Greg Taylor level of stability and swiped a bit too easy off the ball. And he seems to disappear against the better opposition in the league.
On the other side, he's meant to be a good dribbler who can open up a defense so he might can add something to our game.

All together it sounds like another project and a gamble. Personally, I would rather save up the £2.8m and contribute it to a more proven winger.

I hope you’re wrong. I have a good feeling about him based on both profile (definitely not the same as our usual ‘projects’) & highlights. If he turns out to be another duffer, then we’re more of a shambles than I thought we were. Supposedly our no.1 target so he MUST go straight in to the first 11 & make us a better side. No excuses.

Looks quick direct and create chances I think he will be a player for us. Only small concern is the injuries he’s had

General opinion is he has pace and skill but lacks the end product. The way I see it if a player has pace, skill and the end product they are usually way out of our reach on value. Need to be realistic and maybe he settles fast.

I just wish our priority target was a left back, powerful cm or a keeper.

I would base your opinion on watching him rather than Transfermarkt who can't even get a players transfer value even remotely correct.

RAPID VIENNA winger Nicolas Kuhn is set to undergo a medical today as he closes in on a £2.8million switch to Celtic.

Reports in Austria yesterday confirmed the German had verbally agreed terms to join the Scottish champions on a four-and-a-half year contract.

The 24-year-old was left out of Rapid’s friendly against Wiener SC at the weekend and did a gym session on his own as he waited on his impending move to progress.

It’s understood Kuhn spent yesterday heading to London where he will undergo medical tests before travelling to Glasgow to finalise his move to the Parkhead club.

A left-footed winger who favours playing off the right flank, Kuhn will become manager Brendan Rodgers’ first signing of the January transfer window.

The Celtic boss is hoping to add up to two more fresh faces before the window closes at the end of the month and is believed to be targeting a left-back and a striker, potentially on loan.

A highly sought-after prospect as a youth player, Kuhn first came to prominence at RB Leipzig, before having spells in the second teams of Ajax and Bayern Munich.

After a spell on loan at Bundesliga 2 side Erzgebirge Aue, he made the move to Rapid Vienna for £500,000 in the summer of 2022.

Previously a youth international for Germany and capped at every age level up to Under-20s, Kuhn’s arrival will give Rodgers better options up front.

His signing will go some way to negating the impact of Daizen Maeda’s absence as the Japan international attacker represents his country at the Asian Cup in Qatar. So far this season, Kuhn has scored three goals and contributed seven assists in 22 appearances.

Last week Rapid’s sporting director Markus Katzer confirmed the Austrian club were fielding offers for one of their star men.

‘Once we reach a certain amount, we have to think about it,’ Katzer said.

End product is one area that can be coached, pace and skill not really.
I disagree with your priority's-a striker would be my No 1 priority.

Would agree with you but it's Austrian football fans that say that on the transfermarkt forum, not transfermarkt employees. So I think there's some truth in it. Unlike transfermarkt's transfer valuations, as you say :celtman2:

Hope I'm wrong as well :giggle1: He should be great against the dross and that's something we desperately need but he looks like our classic cheap punt where we hope he can finally fullfil his potential.

This would be the perfect player to use a loan with option to buy to lower the risk of buying another squad filler.

I won't dispute anything said about him, given I've only watched a few highlight videos on youtube but the half season one, which showed his highlights between August and December were very good.

He has 3 goals and 7 assists in 22 games. If he had 3 goals and 13 assists, it would not have shocked me. I counted 6 chances he put on an absolute plate for his team mates that they missed and we aren't talking difficult chances, either. That's not including the decent chances he created for them.

Telling you right now, the boy is going to be a star here. Bookmark this.

Giving me Boerrigter vibes but hopefully I'm way off and he is a proper player.

Really looking forward to seeing Kuhn, seems like a confidence player with a load of early hype at young age but lost his mojo a bit in recent seasons, but theres clearly a special talent in there that just needs brought through in the right way - and BR is perfect coach to deliver that.

If he brings the right attitude, he'll absolutely love it here - and so will we.
