  1. Yeah seen his lack of pace mentioned a few times but I don't see where he fits into the midfield unless we switch to a 4-2-3-1 and he's the 10. Is he robust enough to play as an 8?

Remains to be seen what happens with Maeda if we bring in Ferguson on loan and Yamada then surely we will put him back out on the left until Jota is back.

  2. I'm not saying don't get fair value. The price part was secondary.

Just saying that if players aren't motivated to play for the club then it's time to move them on. N'tcham being the prime example.

I'd add I don't really have a personal view of Kuhn on this. I just expect players to turn up and play to their potential if there isn't any reason not to.

He's a petulant child who sulks everytime he doesn't get his way. Move on asap please.

  3. We won't get any more trying to hang on to him for another year. Sell.

  4. I’d be looking for £20m but anywhere in between £15m and £20m and I’d take it think. There’s always one big player to leave, that’s the nature of the model. If it is to be Kuhn, I wouldn’t be all that fussed.

  6. Is personally rather us spending a chunk on a proven solid cdm. A position we’ve been crying out for years, break the transfer record again and get a proven solid * in there

  7. Hopefully true.

  8. Dunno whit or who the * Kicker is but their player values are well *. I can't see us getting less than 15 for him.

  9. £20m would be unreal business. He's a class player but his heart wasn't in it in the second half of the season for whatever reason. He seems like he never really bonded with our fans.

  10. Where you seeing that?

  11. Could've been 30 at one point but 20 and a decent sell on would be pretty good still..

  12. It looks like they’re basing it on his Transfermarkt ‘Market Value’ (which is €12m, so roughly £10.2m) which is
generally a load of *. If I’m remembering correctly, it’s basically decided by users (and you can imagine some of the roasters that includes) submitting and discussing what they think a player’s worth is, and often seems to ignore factual evidence of bids and interest in favour of some random user’s gut feeling.

When it comes to our ‘less valuable’ players, it’s maybe closer to the mark, and often that’s just common sense anyway, but they’re typically way off the mark when it comes to the higher end. Guys like O’Riley, and some of our other high profile sales, were being listed at ‘values’ of about half of what they ultimately went for.

  13. Tbh I think some players will just be like that. I don't think it means he doesn't appreciate the support or anything.

Players are humans end of the day, loads of different personalities. Edouard could look a bit moany and uninterested at times too but I bet he felt the "love" from us.

  14. I get that but he was backing out of challenges and 50/50's galore second half of the season. Then getting up the support on the day finally he turned back up to win the league..

I'd love to see his defensive numbers first half of the season compared to second, as it wasn't like he was just one of those wingers who didn't defend....infact it was a massive plus of his game doing the ugly work back..

I think he'll smash it for Leipzig due to his attributes, the league being much more open and the desire from him to do well..

  15. I think the criticism he was getting when he first arrived played a part but maybe I'm reading too much into things.

Edouard just came across as a moody guy. Never really felt like he didn't like it here, think it was just his style that made it seem that way at times. Sure he was the same down at Palace.

  16. I think with Tierney coming back, we will go back to a 4-2-3-1. Everyone has their opinions on Taylor but when he came inside and essentially played as a midfielder alongside McGregor, it created space and dragged opposition players out of position, creating space for McGregor to dictate games. I love Tierney but let's be honest, he's not playing as an inside fullback. He's not good enough on the ball to do that. He will go back to what he does best, playing as an overlapping fullback. So, Rodgers will want another midfielder in there alongside McGregor, which I think will be Engels.

If he doesn't decide to do that, Nygren can definitely play as an 8. He's done it multiple times in his career. He's pretty much as flexible as you can possibly get. I think he's definitely coming in as a 10, though and will likely cover the RW position if we are really struggling.

As said above, with Jota out injured until 2026, Kuhn likely away, Maeda clearly being marked as the 1st choice striker moving forward and the likes of Palma, Yang and Tilio linked with permanent moves on, we really need to target wingers. Could really do with 3 in minimum, with one of the left wingers being able to play as an attacking midfielder(like Balikwisha).

  17. Seemed to take the huff when Jota joined

  18. If we get £20 million for a player who does want to be here anymore and did not give 100% for us for most of the 2nd half of last season that will do me.

  19. £20m for a huffy * is great business.
