Tbh I think the level of form he showed first 6 months was unsustainable. No player has ever really managed to keep that going across an entire season for us other than the very very best (Larsson etc). Added to the fact last season is the most football he's ever played at a decent level, sustained. Would have impacted.

He ended the season with 21 goals and 15 assists. Still fantastic no matter what way you paint it and without him in the first half of the year who knows where we may have been, as he was our only real creative source for a while.

He did drop off and obviously wanted to move on but don't wish him ill, personally. He's clearly just not the song and dance or stick around for the ages type. Which is fine. He's made us money and it's in our continued best interests if he does well at Como too.

I can’t believe the big deal that is being made over the player development fee to other clubs in the Kuhn sale, that literally happens in every player sale there is. The only way a club don’t pay that is if they brought the player through from 16 to first team then sell them.

So according to the daily ranger we cut our losses on him,, and here's me thinking we got 5 times what we paid for him is a good thing

We potentially don't get to the Bayern game without him and his brace against RB Leipzig

In fairness, we shouldn't actually lose (much?) money on any of those players though... They're not bad players, just not our level, and they'd still recoup similar fees if sold... Small losses would be fine! We can't strike gold with every hole we dig...

Problem is we can't move them because of the wages they're getting to sit on their arses...

It's a good deal. For about 4 months he was absolutely brilliant for us but for the rest of his time he was either a bit meh or just play Yang instead.

100% he shat it a lot and ended up hiding after 10mins, getting that type of money is brilliant business just hope we reinvest it in the team

Happy with that fee, all things considered. If he finished the season like he started, I would have wanted more but he was nowhere near it. Got no issue with a guy not looking overly happy or whatever but any player that shites out of challenges and doesn’t put in the work winds me up. Reinvest the money in some quality and everyone wins.

Brendan Rodgers declared it “great business all round” as he confirmed Celtic winger Nicolas Kuhn is poised to join Serie A side Como.

The 25-year-old German joined from Rapid Vienna for a fee of £3million 18 months ago and after a difficult start, he went on to establish himself as a key player for the Hoops last season.

However, Celtic have opted to cash in on one of their prized assets and are set to rake in a fee in the region of £17m once the deal is finalised in the coming days

We’ve virtually agreed between the club and Como so it looks at this point that he’ll be on his way, but we just have to wait for confirmation,” said Rodgers, speaking to the media at Lesser Hampden on Friday night after Celtic defeated Championship side Queen’s Park 1-0 in a friendly.

Kuhn scored 24 goals in 69 appearances for the club, starred in their run to the knockout phase of the Champions League and was nominated for the PFA Scotland Premiership Player of the Year in his only full campaign at the club.

“I think it’s very clear, the model of Celtic,” Rodgers continued. “He’s come in and in the 18 months he’s done absolutely fantastic for us. He was aware of interest towards the end of last season and that sort of followed through.

“Other teams have joined in that interest over the summer and that’s why a lot of the young players come. It’s a wonderful, brilliant club to come to develop and improve. And you can see within a short period of time, 18 months, he’s now getting the move that he wants.

“He’s done brilliant for us in the 18 months and if he does end up going and signing for Como then it’s great business all round.”

We've had players who've been whiney lazy * for their whole time here. Give Kuhn some credit, he wasn't one for a good 6 months in the middle.
