And... he's right. Look at Anahiems roster, look at the players they drafted into their system and Burke brought in. Theres a reason they won last year... tough, fast, all out Canadian hockey. Thats a fact, surely you know this. Not to mention every team that has ever won the Stanley Cup, save Mike Modano in Dallas, has had a Canadian Captian that has lead them there. Steve Yzerman, Scott Stevens, Messier, Sakic, Gretzky... Its not chance. There is a reason your Flyers took then 3rd to 4th Round rated Steve Downie with the 29th Overall pick in 2005. Why did they go off the board? What kind of a player is he?

Speaking of your flyers, you should be excited. They have invested heavily in scouting and player development overe the past few years, and its showed. Prior to being named GM, I dont think I saw any other scout more than I saw Paul Holmgrom out at the Junior arenas... hes a work-a-holic and is certianly proving his worth. Scottie Upshall will end up being one of those afformentioned Canadian Captains that lead this team to better things if I had my guess.

Katie... Blake was a good signing and Toskola is definately an upgrade. Im hoping the younger players can turn a corner this year, keep your fingers crossed.

I think we can get to the quarters at least. But thats when our leadership needs to crack down and get us further. Jason Blake is a great player. Im glad we got him! Better players were available though. I would have liked to seen Smyth.

Yea Im excited about the Flyers team next season.

Biron (Decent enough goalie finally we have a true number 1)

    First line I could see

    Gagne Briere Knumble

    Hartnell Carter Lupol

    Eager Richards Kapanen ( checking)
    (unsure) Umberger (unsure)

    And Defense:
The two Timmonen brothers. His younger brother is pretty decent from what we saw of him last year.

Hatcher. Started showing promise again towards the end of last season.

    Smith
    Coburn
    Kukkonen
    Picard

Plus a few great prospects with our phantoms on wing and defense. Depends who gets the call up.

Look at our divison. Colorado, Edmonton, Calgary, Minnisota, and Vancouver. Always the tightest in the league.
And everytime a west team faces an east team, the west gets the majority of wins....or at least fr Vancouver
