Watched this for the first time yesterday, must have been last weeks episode (ep. 2?) and thought it was pretty bad, similar level to stuff like mrs browns boys.

Seems like the main attraction is they use our slang and say naughty words sometimes.

I can understand the nostalgia tho as if they brought back give my head peace I would definitely be watching it. Even though it would probably be terrible. The old episodes probably wouldn't be great to watch today either tbh.

The main attraction has always been the relatability. From episode 1.

I think it's a mark of the very high standards set by earlier episodes, as mentioned it's just great to have it back on TV.

Didn't take to it aswell of the two very good episodes that went before.
I seen that clip of mick and the letterbox the other night on some bbc facebook page and nearly fell out of my bed laughing. I like mick , hes a good character so far.
    Enjoyed Isa tonight also

Agree with this. Last weeks was decent but most of the laughs are just expected because it's auld * swearing. This methadone Mick character is brutal, thought this one was better than the first episode though.

Cant take to methadone mick at all, him thinking he was talking to a magic letterbox was toe-curlingly cringey to watch not funny at all, wish they would give more air-time to the established characters boaby/navid/tam/eric etc rather than shoe-horning mick into it.

Its not bad by a longshot but it can never reach the heights of the old ones, still watchable though.

Thought last night was pretty funny tbf but think they could have cast the junkie part a bit better.

Yeah I sort of agree with the swearing bit.

Obviously, the Glasgow slang/patter has been a staple of Still Game and it's what's made it funny over the years (for the most part). But sometimes it does feel flat when they say it every minute. The start of the episode when they were talking about the charity shops and said "cow" about 3 times in a minute...come on!

I would agree the early series' of Still Game are funnier than those shows, but you need to remember Monty Python is 40 odd years ago, before 'alternative comedy' was heard of. They opened the door for a million other shows.
