New Captain?

iv went for mcmanus, because i dont understand why we should change it during the season, i can see why he may not be everyones first choice, but when watching us play i dont see any player who stands up and leads the team. you dont have to be the captain to lead the team but we have no one. i wouldnt choose robson because hes not a guaranteed first team player, i disagree with goalkeepers beeing captain so that would rule our artur, and caldwells not going to be here long enough to be a captain. i think mick is our best leader out of a bad bunch although i think hes only given captaincy because he is one of the longest serving players.

 

Robson he has the qualities to be a great Captain.

 

Zhi Zheng for me.

I know he's only played one game, but to play a debut game at Ibrox & to come out as one of our best players shows real talent.

He is the captain of the biggest nation in the world.

He looks to be cool as a * cucumber & very very professional.

He would herald a new beginning, a clean slate.

He's a new signing so he isn't tainted by our recent failure in dropping 7 point leads to a bunch of * - all players from last season failed miserably & are carrying it over to this season, it needs to be weeded out.

 

I would have said Robson if he was a regular starter, if he gets a run in the team that I'd go with him, other than that I don't think we have a natural captain in the squad.

 

Only the biggest nation in terms of population size. China aren't a big football nation so being captain of China doesn't mean that he should be captain of Celtic.

 

Robson or Zheng for me as temporary captain until January and then buy a decent CB/Captain

out of that list i'd say Robson when fit otherwise Boruc!

 

he has played in an English speaking country for 2 years, chances are that even if he came over to England without knowing a word of English, he wouldve picked up enough in terms of football to captain a team IMO

 

I can't vote on this because I don't think any of the current team would make a particularly good captain. Barry Robson could probably do it but he isn't guaranteed to get a game(and shouldn't be either) and you can't have a captain who isn't even going to be in the team half the time.

boruc is the only one gets the crowd going and deserves the armband he is driven by determination and loves celtic

 

Agreed and as for the people falling over themselves for Boruc, you want to put extra pressure on a player that can barely keep it together himself. Do ya remember what happened last season?? He's not captain material.

 

we may aswell have no captain there is no true leader in our squad......
mabee in a few months we will see how ZZ unfolds maybe

Robson is a good shout but injury prone..we would need a good backup to him
so the saga continues

When was the last time he completed back to back 90 minutes?

 

not for me... Mick has all the credentials to be celtic captain.... although he may lack some of the playing ability...

There are no natural leaders that will be playing week in week out so why take it away from him??
