For me, in regards to the possibility of changing the bond character, they had a perfect opportunity (still do) to make a female led role within the bond universe, without actually piaaing off half the fan base.

They hinted towards Moneypenny going in to the field a couple of times over recent films, easily could have just made her go in to it full time. Take on the number 008(or something), call it Moneypenny and let the lass have her own character, own film, own everything, but have the established fan base.

Instead of what seems to be the case for most of the "me too" movement, which is just to take something away from the other side and shoe horn diversity in to something for the sake of it.
I'm not remotely sexiest in thinking I can't watch a female led spy/action film, but as a life long bond fan, I do get annoyed that they are willing to throw it all away and change something for a jumped up social justice fad.

    Ending was pathetic.

With directors and co its now a case of 'oh look what ive done'.

Meh. Haven't really enjoyed the whole Spectre stuff in the last couple of films tbh.

Loved Daniel Craig as Bond but didn't enjoy (much) that final film (especially the ending).

Skyfall is probably my favourite ever Bond film.

Anyone else been going to the 60th Anniversary screenings at the Cineworld & Odeon on Mondays?

Last 3 weeks they've done Dr No, From Russia With Love & Goldfinger.

    Tonight is Thunderball.

Love the Bond franchise but the last two films have been incredibly weak.

They had one of the most charismatic actors in the world in Christoph Waltz in the last few and still managed to leave him on the periphery and haven’t utilised him properly.

    Poor writing all round.

Why not just make a female equivalent rather than ruin a male character? I have absolutely no problem with a female protagonist, just write a good one and there's plenty of ways of doing it with being a spy!

It's not like it's new. Since the days of La Femme Nikita right though, but recently there has been a few attempts with mixed results, some been kind underwhelming but on the other hand there have been a few that show the potential.

Atomic Blonde was awesome, if anyone is looking for one to check out.

Haven't seen the most recent one, but that's down to Spectre being so *.

Casino Royale has been the only really good Daniel Craig film.

Aye, Quantam of Solace was * as well.

Skyfall was a brilliant film, but that would have been great regardless of who played Bond to be honest.

Casino Royale was one of the best films in the franchise and Daniel Craig suited that brilliantly.

But a combination of lazy plots and complacency killed his legacy in the end. Last two films were jobby.

The most recent one is a bit * poor, and they could have done so much more with it. Underwhelming is being generous.
