    I'm not picky.
At least they are getting behind the manager and giving him the time, unlike some people, who want to bring a new manager to the club in September, give him time to settle (time that Lennon doesn't seem allowed apparently) and to probably want him to have won the league by January.

I would say to win it by December but the new manager would need that settling in period after all :87:

Of course I never enjoyed today but at least I see the bigger picture rather than just "getting Lennon out", bringing in someone else and then for the same people to start slating the next manager when HE'S not won the league by September.

The TEAM was * poor today as well as the tactics but yet you seem to be only criticising Lennon for the selection and not blaming the players for their poor performance on the field. Some players are not good enough for the team and need to be dropped unless ABSOLUTELY neccessary (ie injuries) and I do agree that some player decisions were baffling but you can't blame the whole lot on Lennon. Lennon can only do so much and when the players go onto the pitch it's up to them to bring in the performances - management can only do so much at that time.

In my opinion Lennon wasn't put in charge to appease the Celtic minded. The board saw what he had done after he took over from the disaster that was Mowbray by WINNING the last 8 league games (one of which was a 2-1 win for us against Hun FC by the way) and have given him a chance. He done more with the team in one and a half months than what Mowbray had done the previous 7.

Lou Macari had plenty of experience but that was a disaster. Jo Venglos had even more experience but look what happened to him. Getting a manager with experience doesn't make a guarantee that things would be any better.

John Barnes wasn't even a COACH prior to his time with Celtic when he got the job. THAT was just a stupid decision based on NO facts in him becoming manager and comparing Lennon to Barnes is like night and day. Also who took over from Barnes when he was sacked - Kenny Dalglish. Look what he done in his managerial career, with loads of experience, yet he couldn't even turn the team around in those last few months and was just as bad as when Barnes was sacked.

Yes Lennon did say it's a results business, everyone knows it's a results business in the end, but it's NOT a trophy winning business by the middle of September! I think he deserves to be given until the end of the season at the very least.

How many fans were calling for Strachan's head after the disaster he had to the start of his Celtic managerial career by drawing 4-4 with Motherwell and getting battered by Bratislava? Yet he managed to get us 3 league titles in the end. If the board were to listen to the fans there and got rid of him at that time who knows what would have happened.

Also, how many times had we been behind Hun FC in the league by more than 10 points as late as MARCH to STILL come back and win the league? Happened a good two or three times if I'm not mistaken and I know that those times were with managers who had experience but how is Lennon supposed to gain this experience people are demanding is he's not given the opportunity to GAIN experience?

I'm happy enough with Lennon being in charge till the end of the season to see if he can get us the title and to see how the rest of the season goes.

I AM with you on this one though and glad I live in the States now because I worked with a few huns and my brother-in-law was a hun as well and I'd never hear the end on how they are "such a brilliant team' :97:

Yeh I support two teams? That doesn't make any sense. Refusing to support the manager of the club you 'support' because we lost a game is a very poor and childish attitude.

Please find me once where I have said neil Lennon is celtic? While he is in charge we should support him, thought that was common knowledge.

Well that's your opinion. He is good enough to be our manager. After all were about 6 games into the season. Surely sacking him at this time would be the most harmful thing to us?

Totally agree with the earlier caller - so to speak - play your best 11 and take the game to them, don't try second guessing or offering too much respect. I don't agree with the call for Lenny to go, but I do think he needs to do a couple of things to assure us that he is the right man for the job...

    1) Drop Sammy and only play him again if we are comfortably winning a game. The team NEVER plays well when he starts. He does not fit the system and offers very little.

    2) Never play loovens when mulgrew is fit, in fact just never play loovens.

Surely to * Lenny can see this - I know 99% of us can

well i said i no longer have support for Neil Lennon you said that i now said i dont support Celtic...bye bye i think you said... Football fans have the right to any opinon they want..we pay our money we are allowed to have an opinon

My opinon happens to be Neil Lennon doesnt have what it takes to be club manager & all the thunder & other bullshit in the world isnt going to make up for that

Did everyone support Mowbray Barnes etc till the end?? of course we didnt.. Neil is no diffrent! barring a complete turnaround his time as Celtic manager is as good as over in my opinon.

& my opinon i no better or worse than anyone elses.

Getting quite silly, half time everyone is telling their mates how Lenny has put out a great team selection and how we can really hammer these *, toasting Lenny, 45 minutes later we have a small minority wanting his head.

Yes, let's get rid of Lenny, let's start all over again with another manage who won't have 5% of Lennys passion for Celtic, that will make us better..... :87: Who is a realistic manager who would come here and improve things?

I swear, some Celtic fans would have us changing our manager after every massive defeat!

    The Celtic song
Im level headed for once ....We were beaten by a side who showed more hunger , more desire and passion to be first to every ball contested ...I believe Our Team will prevail ..It will recover from this ..This wont be the last time we get beaten this year
I dont believe sacking the manager is an option .....Who would take the job on ?
This is a knee * reaction to a defeat that really shouldnt have happened ....We need to pick ourselves up here get behind the team , it will need it after today ..
1 result does NOT wreck a season ..We could point the finger at anyone today but what good would it do ????
Lets get behind them and show our support for the TEAM and Lennon :shamrock:

We have a good enough squad yet we're blaming Lennon for not winning today? :97:

The team that Lennon fielded should STILL have played much better than what they did, so the players have to take responsibility for playing the way they did.

Blame just doesn't lie with Lennon.

Lennon's got a lot of convincing to do after the start we've made to this season.

    • Zonal defending is *.
    • Forster's never made a BIG save in his life.
    • Our team have no players who can kick with their weak foot.
    • Defence is abysmal.
    • Same mistakes time and time again.
    • Samaras will cost Lennon his job.
    • Stokes and Ledley should have started.
    • Brown wasn't match-fit.
    • Lack of awareness to make a sub.
I could go on but there's no point. Lennon needs to have a look at himself and what him and his background team are doing to Celtic.

When you've a seasoned, well-known ex-international who played CB as your right-hand man and you're defending like that alarm bells ring.

Utterly disgusted by today and the Huns deserved it and we should have been spanked by more.

I'm not one of those with rage specs on. But Lennon's inexperience shows. I'd hate to see him flop. Maybe he needs a bit of help in tougher games?

The original plan was for Finland Manager Stewart Baxter to guide him... but our Neil was too stubborn & wanted to go it alone!!

Steward Baxter turned down the role.

You cant appoint him as manager and then tell him to do what someone else says, thats not really fair.

I don't think we stood much chance of winning today anyway. The team just wasn't up for it. If Lennon had added Ledley or whatever and we would have still lost then people would have complained again saying 'we should have started Ki etc'
