Neil Lennon, yes or no.

Right, good post and I will attempt to give some solutions inkeeping with what I believe. No doubt there will be people that disagree, so let me address your post point by point.

Manager - Lennon needs to go. I have been saying that since he walked in the door, I am never keen on rookie managers taking the posts at big clubs, it rarely works regardless of who it is.

I have given a lot of thought as to who we should get in, but in truth we won't know anything until the job is up for grabs. Management has moved on leaps and bounds in the past 5 years with a lot of people like AVB, Mourinho, Mancini and Guardiola taking up huge positions in club football leaving a lot of the big experience bank managers without jobs or forced to take obscure international posts to keep the high wages coming in. Here is a couple of suggestions...

Fatih Terim - With Galatasary on a quick decline in Turkish football this no nonsense guy could be exactly what we need. He had managed some of the biggest clubs in the world and takes no * at all, from any players. A long shot but I believe he could be good

Bernd Schuster - Again, a good manager proven ability and no nonsense. Had a tough run of luck in Turkey and out of work, maybe worth contacting. You never know.

Kevin Keegan - Probably the most unlucky football manager I have ever seen, he was approached in the past for the Celtic post and was a front runner. It seems the only club he ever wants to manage is newcastle, however since he doesnt even make TV appearances, maybe its worth speaking to him. IMO I think he could do a very good job.

Martin O'Neil - A lot of people here are very confident he would never touch this club again. I however have a feeling that if our club was to show a slight bit of ambition, give him a budget and a decent rolling contract we could see Saint Martin back at paradise. Maybe wishful thinking and I try not to much to think about his last season in charge but if his affinity with our club means anything to him, he must see that he could dominate the Scottish game once again.

Again, there will be some that would suggest all of the above mentioned are completely out of reach. Well I guess the truth is we will never know until that day comes.

I do not think it is fair at all to blame the players. The majority of the non performers are proven good players and just have problems at the moment that seem to be due to Lennons management. End of the day once this starts its a domino effect, players form groups and friends and they all seem to stick together. I personally don't see Lennon as the most likeable character to someone that does not really support Celtic or knows to much about him. I also think any player coming into the club and see him being attacked, getting horrible stuff sent in the mail and the general abuse at most away grounds would look at him as a troublesome figure.

Dont think Keegan is the man for the job. His Newcastle sides always reminded me of most Celtic sides - great attacking flair and sieve defense.

I like the sound of Schuster or Termin. I would positively avoid any candidates of a Celtic background (as I think its a disadvantage been a fan as well as a manager) and go continental. I wouldnt touch anyone under about 50. I want a wise uber experienced manager who is a tactical master.

No, we couldn't get Scots that know a thing about the club to come to us, I highly doubt we'd get any of those on your list. That reason alone is enough for me to stick with Lenny and try and ride this out. May be a different story come the end of the season but there's no-one out there today who could and would come in tomorrow and right the ship.

To be honest, any stable, really organised manager who just stuck to a stable lineup with the players in their best positions could probably improve us. Lenny seems to be complicating things that are straight forward.

The truth is that Lennon is currently living on a week to week basis.

One more bad result in the league and he would probably walk.

If the list of candidates to replace Neil Lennon is going to read something like:

Craig Levein
Mark McGhee
Michael O'Neill
Steve McClaren
A half decent foreigner <insert name="" here=""><insert name="" here="">*insert name here*

............then I would rather plough on ahead with Neil Lennon. It's the easiest thing in the world to say Neil Lennon should be sacked but finding a top manager who wants to work in the SPL, and work with the budgets Celtic have to offer, is nowhere near as easy as some people on here seem to think it is.</insert></insert>

Tbh I would take McLaren - UEFA Cup final with Boro, broke the big 3 of netherlands with Twente + experience abroad.

Saying that, I can't see his persona being at all popular with fans. Wally with the Brolly and all that. So from a C.V. pov he ticks all the right boxes, regrettably willbe unable to win over the fans.

There's gotta be some decent foreign/English speaking bosses out there though? One that springs to my mind is Otto Reheggal, but there's gotta be others.

Oh and Paul Lambert (Or even Owen Coyle)
