Personally I really like Neil Lennon.

Yes he has had his moments in the past, but I would much rather we had someone like that at the club than a Tony Mowbray type character who used to stand around and pretty much say nothing.

We all know that when Lennon does get angry etc its because he has, like us, such a passion and love for the club.

Every time I have met him, even when he was a player, he has always been lovely as well and has given the fans plenty of his time - which a lot of other players/managers won't do these days.

Puts his neck on the line for the club, sometimes literally. Glad he's with us and can't wait to see how good he gets with experience :50:

Never a truer word spoken. The mask has slipped several times in last three yearsnot that the meeja focus on it.

My thoughts entirely:50: Really do agree with the top paragraph there with him handling press conferences.

I have met him briefly before and he was 100%. I loved him as a player and in his first season when he shook things up a bit. I still love him but my respect for him has dropped in the last couple of years. The * he spouted about the Green Brigade when they were needing all the support they could get really dissapointed me as did his comments about Stokesy attending his own mates memorial ffs. Personally, I think he has become a bit of a yes man for the board

    Still love the * though

To be honest I love the guy. I read his autobiography, Neil Lennon: Man and Bhoy, a while ago and I couldn't put it down. I don't know him personally, but you can tell that he's obviously very passionate about what he does, whether that was playing or now managing. He wears his heart on his sleeve it seems and is not afraid to do that, nor speak his mind either, which can be seen here with him laying into Burley a couple of seasons ago -
    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rb8-sm3xqp8"]Lennon slams Burley - YouTube[/ame]

He's a pretty funny guy as well and loved when he done this -

We all know what the SMSM think about him and more often than not, they just seem to diminish him as being just a loud, snarling lout who loves to cause trouble all the time, which, in my opinion, is a bunch of horseshit. With the amount of * that Lennon has had to put up with in the last 12 years from the death threats, being attacked physically & verbally in the street, constant jibes, chants and boos from opposing fans at every stadium he's played at in Scotland, and moronic press releases about him, he deserves a medal for managing to put up with it all.

Guy's a character and a legend for me.

    Even McNeill as well

Yet the only manager to get lambasted about it is Lennon.

So it was ok for Stein & Ferguson to confront ref's because they didn't "sprint", but it's not ok for Lennon because he did. Holy * :56: :87:

I think Lennon has become a lot smarter when picking and choosing his words in interviews, and that is a positive. I love how passionate he is about the club. There is just no pleasing some people, Mowbray was slated for sitting feeling sorry for himself and showing no emotion, and Lennon is sometimes criticised for being too emotional and passionate. I know which I would rather have in my manager.

I agree about the media portraying him in a bad light also, especially compared to other managers. I remember Butcher punching and breaking a dugout, I think it was at Dens last season. The response was a jovial one, and it got took as a bit of a joke. Could you imagine if Lennon had done it, he would have been slaughtered by the whole of the media.

I really don't get this ' it's only rampant in Edinburgh and Glasgow' pish. Go to Fife, Ayrshire, Dundee, Livi, Harthill, Peterhead and it's really not hard to find the sectarian hatred

Don't know him personally. But I love the fact he winds up der Hun. He is Celtic thru and thru.

He comes across as intelligent, articulate and thoughtful. He is portrayed in the media as the opposite.

We are lucky to have an exciting young manager.

In no ways is he a liability to the club, that was Tony Mowbray.

Aye, just love how the referee is pointing to tell him to go and McNeill is standing there as if to say "* you - I'm going nowhere!" :icon_mrgreen:
