Had that in mind as well, mate. To publically humiliate one of your own players by saying to the media that he damaged the reputation of Celtic because he attended his mates funeral! Could have easily been done behind closed doors. The same media who hate him with a passion and have done nothing else but cause him suffering for years.

    eh?

I admire what you said but he has received a lot a shameful insults on this forum over the last couple of weeks - perhaps you haven't seen them tough.

Calling him a coward has been one of the kinder ones.

Regardless if it was meant purely because he knew what the punishment would be, I still can't help but be annoyed at it. He could have said a lot of things, he could have bodyswerved the question if he really wanted to, but he shouldn't have said what he did in my honest opinion.

Forgot about that actually. That was another time he should have kept his mouth shut.

He was probably walking out to the pitch hoping that the fans main concern was getting behind the team and helping them win the game against Milan in possibly the biggest game of our season.

He had every right to be scunnered when he saw that banner.

It didn't stop the GB supporting the team like any other game though. It was a banner that was on show prior to kick off. And it was a banner, that in my opinion, highlighted a very valid point. People say that it wasn't the best time to do it, when would be a good time. A game that is live for the World to see is as good a time as ever I think. The biggest problem is, that a lot of our support, and media didn't quite grasp what the banner was pointing out. They saw Bobby Sands, put 2 and 2 together, and come up with 5.

If I was Stokesy, I would have left after that. Getting publicly slated by your own manager and fined for attending his mates memorial. An absolute disgrace so it was. Lennon is a * slabber who I have lost all respect for tbh

And some of our support saw the biggest game of the season against Milan, where we had to be completely focused and switched on. Some of our support, however, thought "* that, we're going to hijack this situation to get our message out there. What's that you say? The club will get fined? Who gives a *? We're the green Brigade, we're political rebels and we'll do whatever the * we want."

I'm sure it's somewhat of an inconvienience being lifted and dragged up in front of a judge for singing "Roll of Honour" etc, only for it to be laughed out the courtroom, like it has on many occasions. Losing out on wages, perhaps even losing your job over it, all because of a ridiculous bill, that the police and stewards really don't have a clue about it. So yes, I can fully understand why they done it that night. To highlight to the World how ridiculous it is.

They also knew what the repercussions would be, and as such they should be prepared to face the backlash.

I'd even go as far as saying that they should be prepared to foot the bill that UEFA will be skelping our club with later today.

Or the club can just pay the bill with all the money they have made off the GB? They will have plenty of it

If Celtic want to tally up the total they have earned from the GB, they can surely foot the bill from that. It would be interesting to see how the figures compare actually.

On form alone, who would have went from a team scoring 16 goals in 3 games, to dropping the guys who created and scored most of those goals.

That doesn't deserve respect. If anything the fans and the players deserve an apology for his complete * ineptitude.

how Lennon can question anyone's behavior is ludicrous. his behavior as a manager has been a joke. understand that there was a * of a lot of pressure on him at times.

personally i just cant stand him anymore. dont rate him as a good manager, even low hes had some really good results last year. this year he just seems like some corporate lackey

Sorry i was replying to an older comment and i disappeared for bit.

What i was on about was this. Lenny thought there was a chance he could keep Wanyama and Hooper. So the signings were to add to the team, not replace anyone.

So Hooper eventually goes and we get all these knockbacks for players. Eventually we end up with Pukki. The qualities of Pukki are similar to Forrest and Stokes.

Boerigter's position we were covered for with Samaras and Stokes. So neither of these signings were what we really needed. What the fans wanted.

I was replying to a comment about signing a player to "appease the fans".

The fans wanted Johnny Russell. So everyone would have been happy with that signing. It didn't happen. So the fans weren't appeased.

Johnny Russell and Mackay-Stevens, everyone's generally quite excited. Would have been a lot simpler, but somehow we went down a far more complicated route.

You go with the percentages, but with the chase for big transfer turnarounds, every signing is a gamble, when it doesn't have to be.

The fans don't get listened to, but a quick look around forums like these and the people like Lawell would know just how easy it would have been to appease the fans, saved money and put together a better team in the process.

Sorry mate, but the day that club officials start listening to the fans about who they should sign would be a dark day indeed.

We employ a team of scouts and a management team to do that.
