We did overachieve...We've only made last 16 3 times in the CL era....and only once as 4th seed.

    FFS take the glasses off.

We did. We underachieved this year though.

Not as far as where we finished. We were always odds-on to finish 4th, even though I hoped we'd get 3rd.

Nope we have already achieved the last 16 before it wasn't a overachiement a questerfinal is.

We heavily underachieved this year due to lack of spending. No doubt the Green Brigade will get the blame for that :50:

We should have came 3rd in this group - Ajax and Milan were there for the taking. It wasn't a lack of goal scoring but tactical naivety that cost us.

Edit: Never knew was last year. He meant.

However could he not have maybe said we could've done better this season after some of our gutless performances in Europe, instead of that * defeatist comment, 'we overachieved last year' Pathetic.

    Moronic.

We won it in 1967 so every year is an under-achievement then eh?

Looking at Espanyol's record, they made the Europa league final in 2007 and won the Copa del ray in 2006 before he took over.

Before Southampton, I doubt many folk took any notice of him. Hence the anger when he got the job.

Managers just seem to go from heroes to zeros, and vice versa, in just a few games.

spot on mate:50: if his ambition is to walk the spl in a one horse race then hes not the man for us.

take in to account hes liewells puppet, and wants to come out and slate fans. but if i remember correctly when the Green Brigade had a banner and a quote from a famous rebel song "we stand behind our leader" when he was going through some of his hardest moments. he never came out and said its not football related then. mans a snake!

We haven't made the quarter finals since 79-80....it was only the 3rd round back then.

Considering what Lennon went through and the fact that he remained at the club through it all, for certain sections of the fans to turn on him so easily really does turn my stomach.

He's made it clear that he doesn't agree with the actions of some of our support. That makes him a puppet, does it? * *, sometimes our support really is embarrassing.

Greatest fans in the world though, eh?

I don't think anyone disrespcting Lennon is right. He has far more integrity and bravery than to be lablled a 'puppet'. He wants to keep us purely on the football and he's deaperate for the fans to stay out of trouble - he has went through more than most for us. He deserves respect.

Not to mention the fact that he's went out of his way to praise the Green Brigade and the supporters in general many a time.

The problem we have now is that he's had the cheek to offer an opinion that doesn't sit well with certain sections of our support, and now he's fair game for abuse it would seem.

    Absolutely shocking behaviour.

I loved Lenny as a player, however as a manager I don't rate him, and quite frankly I can't see him taking us any further than he has, he continues to buy foreign players and refuses to play the scottish youngsters. His substitutions are mind boggling at times... And some of his signing particularly strikers have been abysmal bar hooper. Time for him to go
