everyone also seems to forget that in the SPL (which is and always has been this years priority) neil lennon has a 100% record and also has not conceded a league goal this season

were playing crap and still winning which is exactly what walter smith has done for years at rangers but the media seem to love him........

Thats my point, we NEED to win the SPL, and he has a 100% win record, we cant afford to be wasting our time this season abroad if we cant even win our own league.

even this early, criticism is just imho...

like a previous poster mentioned,we should be building for europe and the spl will take care of itself...

our squad is far too big and this should of been addressed ...(no * way will we keep everyone happy, which will lead to problems down the line)

imho, all we needed to buy was a decent keeper, quality cb,decent lb,decent left mid and a quality striker.. 5 players! not * 10/11 average joes....

a smaller squad of 22/23 players of better quality is whats required.

absolute NO excuse for crashing out of europe especially in that manner,so yeah, criticism is just.

Get used to lennon havig his doubters.....it wont stop and the papers and fans will not move on untill he has won his first spl......ok if we go 20point clear it might stop but dont hold your breath.
And even if we win the spl once we get humped out of europe next year it will start again.
Just the way things are sadly.:38:

Apart from him being an inexperienced manager with a whole new batch of players from completly different surroundings?

The SPL wont just follow suit, its more playing time, away from home, we should concentrate on winning the league. And considering our luck with injuries, a big squad it whats needed.

So know, after only losing 2 games under his control and a 100% SPL record he deserves criticism? What does he have to do then?

In terms of judging the manager I wait till the season is over, so far I think lennon has done well. His signings have been good and hopefully get better with playing time together, as regards to the players who have left lennon made it quite clear after the scottish cup semi-final ( Boruc and Mcgeady the exception).

As for signing a big player, what type of big player is going to come to a mediocre league for half the wages he could get somewhere else. Not many as we have seen with the likes of bullard, any such signing would be along the lines of the robbie keane deal and lets be honest unless the guy is of that level then whats the point. Bullard showed a lack of desire to play for the club and only willing to move if he got the financial deal.

Unfortunately some people seem to have jumped on the bandwagon early doors, negativity in the press is common towards any celtic manager especially with Sir Walter in charge of the rivals and seems to have influenced a few opinions. The old boys club that runs throught various media sources from the daily ranger too bbc scotland and others have rarely given credit to any celtic manager. Gordon Strachan got it becasue he never got on with certain individuals and Martin O`Neil got it because he was to well educated for them all, hence the multiple apologies printed in many papers over the years.

Give Neil Lennon a chance is what I ask of the fans, base your opinions of the team`s performance over the season not knee-* reactions to performances.

I didnt mean it;s not important like that, just At the place we are at just now Europe is second priority and we failed to get there. My top priority is the SPL title back at Celtic Park where it belongs. Once we have our status back as champions and a settled Celtic side.
We all know how important europe is financially for a club like ours but if it meant taking our eye of the main prize then right now I'm not too bothered.
And if I remeber correctly we still had to play the same amount of games to qualify. We were rotten in europe before MON so our co-efficient was gash. It's gash again obviously but that will sort itself out in the next 2-3 years. League first, europe secnd.

And there is a hidden reality here: If Maloney could finish we'd have won 4-0 yesterday and Sammy would have been one of the heroes as well, with his nice through balls and setup play. The problem with this team right now is that no one can finish. It's the same problem we had last year. That's not the manager's fault.

    Lennon's spl record- 12 wins from 12

Lenny's European record- 2 wins and 2 loses.

Lenny's signing record- looks pretty dam good to me.

    Cut the negativity guys

I am still Reading people slaughtering Lennon on these threads!!

Stokes is a better striker than what we have, similar to hooper both will score and create chances, he scored more last season than sameras and fortune together and hoopets record is not too shabby either!

Lennon has tried to address every area in the side, this can't be done overnight. He's been criticised for failing to land some of his top targets. I'd rather try and fail than just go for lower quality, one of them will come off in time!

Once again, give the guy a chance, some people really don't have a clue!!

We havent conceded a goal yet in the SPL. Lennon has now won 11 SPL games on the trot. By the end of the season we wont care about Europe. All we will care about is the league, which we are top of atm. In fact, I'm already over Europe. Lets win the title ffs.

The one thing nobodys mentioned about Lennon is the fact that hes willing to change his formation to suit opposition, this will tell when hes made all his signings, hes still experimenting just now, was sick of GS and TM playing 4-4-2(mostly to suit mcgeady) and having no back up plan, let him finish building his squad judge him then, of course he'll make mistake its whether he learns from them or no.

his signings have been terrible !
a 3rd choice goalkeeper from a team just up from the championship. they dont want to sell him so he is only here to get 1st team experience. are we now a feeder club for championship/relegation fighting prem teams?
3 full backs he has signed. cha and mulgrew are terrible. defensively they are so so poor and they dont make up for that by being good going forward. 2 of the worst full backs in the spl. the 3rd izzy only time will tell. as for the centre half the big swede had alarm bells ringing out in utrecht and looks big and clumsy. after last year i thought defence would be the priority. looking at these signings it dont fill me with confidence!
signed 3 midfielders. drops 2 of them for the motherwell game yet brown still starts ? juarez posted missing in the 2 big away games and kayal was posted missing on thurs till he turned up in the celtic bench at motherwell. ledley jury still out on.
signed 3 forwards ! murphy, hooper and now it seems stokes ! thats the worst list of strikers we have had in all my time supporting celtic.
so after 11 signings we are still short of maybe 5 or 6 players?? how can that be? look at that starting 11 on sunday at motherwell and tell me is that a better team than last year? i would seriously doubt it and thats after 11 signings.
now onto lennon and his tactics, or should i say lack of.. he has had 3 win or bust matches since he took over. ross county, braga and utrecht. 3 losses! we had a 2nil lead going to utrecht and look at his team ! all we had to do was keep it tight and look at our flanks, ledley and forrest on the left and cha and fortune on the right. is it any wonder we got ripped a new one down both sides? he keeps swapping hoiveld and loovens. just pick one and stick to it. juarez is a right sided defensive mid/right back yet he insists on putting him in the middle of the park. what about scott brown? lennons blue eyed boy? captain fantastic that will never br dropped? then there is his subs.. he looks clueless at times. who does he turn to on the bench? another 2 guys with as much experience as he has, which is none ! this is what happens when you give someone with no experience such a big job. celtic is too big a job for an amatuer and you shoudnt get this job just because you were a legend as a player. i fear the worst for us this season

He looked totally lost and out of his depth standing on the touchline last week against Utrecht.

he is gona get criticism for going out like the way we did if you think he is not then you need to wake up

we where * poor and lets face it we sould have beat a team who finished 7th last season in the dutch leauge

don't think people are having a go about the leauge, sick to death now of people going on about last season and the games he won, thats last season he is 3 in 3 now 100% you can't knock that

but you can knock him for europe, it was poor very poor, but we can give 100% in leauge and i think everyone is behind the manager, well they sould be
