You seem to using the basis that Vossen was available for you to bash this transfer, what is it that Vossen has over Ciftci? I've never seen Vossen play but he looks like a player whose taken a massive nosedive in the last couple of seasons.

When Ciftci gets his ban, will he be banned for Europe too?, or just league games.

I take your general point, and I'd like I've said, it's obviously not easy, but I'm still seriously disappointed and find it difficult to believe that (even with the pressure to get a striker in before the deadline) Çiftçi was the best we could manage.

I'm in no way writing him off. As soon as he pulls on the Hoops, I'll be rooting for him the same as for the other ten on the pitch, and - for what it's worth - I think he should do decently in the league. I'm just really underwhelmed.

Well I'm pointing out the basics to help myself understand exactly what you're expecting from the scouts.
Who would you rather Guidetti or Ciftci?
I know who I would it's an easy pick, Guidetti was the only other one that could of been but for several reasons wasn't in the end.

I hope he does well here but I'm not suggesting anything, I will judge him at Christmas, got to give him a chance. Look how well GMS & Armstrong have done since coming in and there were a good few unsure and thinking we should be aiming higher. Fact is we are fishing for good bait to sell on a few years down the line, Ciftci has plenty of potential you can't deny that.

The few times I've seen him I've thought he looked every bit like the striker we need: technical, hard-working, and goal-bound. He also has a good strike-rate in European competition. I'd also rather we hadn't signed someone with Çiftçi's disciplinary record. I totally believe Ronny can iron him out, but why should he, if we could've gotten someone who didn't come with that baggage? I don't know, maybe we couldn't have; maybe Çiftçi is really the best we could do, but if that's the case, I'm thoroughly disappointed.

It's really not that I don't rate Çiftçi;I just don't rate him all that highly (yet). I'll wait and see before criticising him as a player, but I honestly think we could have done better.

I do wish him well as Celtic player, and hope he has enormous success with us.

Seems to me he is exactly the type of player Ronny wants...apart from the different attributes he offers and his obvious flaws, he can be developed and moulded and if he wants to reach his potential with us his attitude will be key.

Ronny is building a team with the emphasis on team players of similar ability and standing in the game. No mega stars of marquee signings a team who will work for each other. And that's fine by me.

He has, aye. As I've said above, I do actually rate him - up to a point.

Personally, I was delighted when we brought in Armstrong and Mackay-Steven. I'd wanted them both at the club for a while, and if it hadn't worked out, fair enough - we have other midfielders and those kind of players are generally an easier find than quality strikers.

I'm sure he'll benefit from our fitness regime as well, he's not fat and has a good build, but I'm sure he'd benefit from being a touch leaner. Would probably improve his speed, which I don't think is bad anyway. He's not slow and has pretty good movement. Remember him leaving Virgil and denayer for dead in our last home meeting when we pumped them after 4 games on the trot, can't remember what he did but he * it nonetheless when Gordon came out..

Think he'll deffo improve here, I just hope it's a big improvement, and he curbs his attitude, massively..

Answered your own question there really, for us to find a striker that is higher quality of Ciftci that hasn't been bought and loaned out to another club or demand a large fee is very hard, there are so few that we could go for and would have to go for someone older with experience (Hooper for example) or someone that's young but needs a good bit of work to become the real deal (Ciftci).

I don't think it's down to the scouts, more down to money and availabilty, unless we start sticking our hand in the South American market and try to uncover some diamonds in the rough.

His stamina is 58 on Fifa, hopefully not actually that bad but yeah he will improve a lot here plus more competition with Griffiths.

I wouldn't go that far...We have to gel first, get fitness back and stop letting cheap goals in...

We should beat them, but I think it will be far closer than a pumping

To be honest I reckon broony would want to squash it anyway as ciftci would batter him:56:

It is a lot to sort out with ciftci though, it can't be ignored. People have mentioned broony before and even some antics at us but ciftci has only been here 2 years and his rap sheet is ridiculous. If you take in to account what he's actually gotten away with, pushing a ref in Inverness, booting broony and elbowing someone, then biting in a derby, that he's still to be done for, then it's a disgrace what he's doing on a pitch. All that was within a few months of last season, and I'm sure there is a load more..
