  1. Good purchase. Ciftci will be a real asset to the team.

Well I know for a fact Brown will welcome him just as he would any other signing.

I'll admit I wasn't too keen on this at first. It was probably more down to the other strikers we were linked with earlier on in the window. Should we progress to the group stages of the Champions League there might be scope to spend a bit more on another striker. Until then like every other new player that comes in we just get behind them and the team. 16 goals last season is decent, given adequate game time and the service from our 3 behind the striker I think he could top that next season.

We've invested heavily in our scouting system, so shouldn't just be poaching players from United if there's someone else available at a similar price who might well be better - and there must be, in Çiftçi's case.

Ciftci is a player who is settled in the Scottish game so we know domestically he will be good and not be a risk like Pukki, Scepovic, Lassad, Miku etc who have done well in other European leagues but can't seem to do it here. We are lucky to pick up players that will make a great impact like Virgil, Wanyama, Hooper etc before other clubs do and for a small fee. Not as straight forward as you think.

More I think about this, the more I want him actually.

He will be great for us imo.

Must there be ?? What about the scouting system that picked up pukki, balde, bangura, ???? Were they not all similar price or even more

Honestly don't get the negativity around him.

Out of the 3 at DUFC - Armstrong, GMS and Ciftci. Ciftci was the one who'd always catch my eye the most when they all played together.

He has pace, power, skill, capable of a very good pass and can finish all different ways.

I think he will suit the Celtic lone striker role superbly well.

There is no other player I can think of for 1.5 million that combines Ciftci's skill, strength and pace

Aye, and tbh he was the one who always seemed to have a decent game against us out of the 3. Armstrong and GMS never really amazed me when playing against us, which is the best test of their ability, but ciftci still seemed to cause us problems.

I can see that thinking. Plus he knows and is already comfortable both in terms of playing in the sprl and in living in Scotland so he in theory should be able to settle into Celtic pretty quickly. The question is can he mature as player discipline wise as there is certainly a lot of talent there. That will be the issue IMHO that makes or breaks Ciftci at Celtic.

I heard sevco made a last minute bid by offering him champions league football and the assurance of winning the treble in seasons 2018 2019 2020 2021 ...but the deal fell through when he found out Scotland's newest club have no credit line, no nomad, no auditors, no scouting system, no money, no players, ......and No telling the Truth :)

Brown and him will probably get on like a house on fire.
