The thing is, he's not a replacement for Griffiths, he's a replacement for Balde/Fridj/Pukki.
    Those are the guys offloaded.

I think he'll link up very well because he likes to play football the right way on the deck and fires in with assists too.

He's passionate and committed and sometimes that spills over in some strange and extraordinary ways. It's a dream maybe for the papers, but i expect he'll be someone not so easily man marked out of the game.

For now he is in terms of finishing/goals but Ciftci will improve rapidly playing for us , he has the attributes that Griff simply doesn't have.

I am excited at the prospect of him being here at his physical peak ,he will go up a level and I think we will in attack with him leading the line. I think/hope he will be the key to a brand of football that will have us salivating.

We are at the table ordering a large portion of Viduka with balls.

I hope we sign him, we've signed to many strikers that we don't actually know if they'll settle in the SPFL or if they'll suit our play etc. Ciftci is a good player and will settle in our squad well, he has already played with GMS and Armstrong as well.
Hes a good striker and can play the wings or just behind and I believe Ronny will be able to improve him!

He only scored 16 goals in 42 games last year and i'm pretty sure since christmas he didn't even score a goal from open play, all penalties. Not good enough.

He'll prove a lot of people wrong if he comes here, I don't get the hate aye he's a bit of a lunatic but we're hardly signing Joey Barton or Diouf. He's a strong guy with quick feet who can finish adding to that he's quick and his link up play is pretty impressive.

Give him the first couple of months to get up to our speed and I reckon we've got a bargain here, Bags of potential he just needs the right coaching.

I wonder whether stokes will be away however would like a tall striker for holdup play in Europe

Not sure griffths/Clifti/stokes are physical enough and jury still out on scepovic being about and out striker

Ciftci is good a holding the ball up he's 6'1" and strong, which is ideal for our system, he'd be able to link up with the three attacking midfielders bringing them into play.

Physical strength and the ability to play the loan striker role is what Ronny wants in a striker.

However not sure if he's technically good enough to get us the big goals in the big games.

I'd be happy with Griffiths, Scep and Ciftci as our three striking options.

He did cause our defence loads of problems at tannadice last season. If I remember he kept going wide right and izzy couldn't cope and Armstrong done the same to Matthews/Efe on the left.

I think his technique is his biggest asset. I just wonder if he's clinical enough.

a striker can only feed of what he's give. Ciftci scored the majority of his goals at the start of the season when united were at their strongest. If he were to get the same service that stokes or griffiths get, i think he could score a barraload. we have been * around vossen for long enough, if he wanted to come he would be here. cut our losses, go for ciftci and let ronny work some magic on a young and raw talent. look at the influence he's had on griffiths. I am beginning to warm to ciftci coming to us. i was dead against it when it was first mentioned, but he could prove a bargain.

I don't want Celtic to sign him . Just look back at his record of indiscipline . Remember that he had a somewhat lucky escape from the charge of putting a chokehold on an official . He has also been involved in sleekit off the ball stuff , a kick out at Broony and the claims of having a bite at an opponent . All a big worry for me , simply too risky .
There is a theory among Dundee United fans that he is very moody . If things are getting tough , he sulks and drifts out of the play . I had similar feelings about the signings of Darren Jackson , and the Thumb . Certainly Griffiths has apparently turned over a new leaf , and deserves to be praised for that . But I can't help thinking that we may live to regret this signing . In the same breath , if he does sign for us , c'mon big Nad' !
