I think Ciftci likes what we have done for Denayer and VVD and some other young players knowing that even bigger clubs will come in for the ones that do good at Celtic.
He is using us as a stepping stone to big clubs and big money and i am happy with that as long as he does brilliant for us whilst putting himself in the shop window.
He wants to play in Europe against big teams and playing for Celtic will do that.

The day Ciftci sees us as a stepping stone is the day I stop watching football.

Depends if you're saying no on moral grounds or not.

He is the tpye of striker I like an all rounder not exactly excellent at one thing for decent at everything you look for. Then again after the biting and kicking Brown amongst other things I think he is too big of a risk and would prefer if we looked else where. Though it looks like he will be a Celtic player in the coming weeks. As long as he keeps his head down and puts in the performances I'll support him.

He will be signing for us, no doubt about it.

I'm not saying a sure fire no, personally. I do have reservations about him though.

If you were offered Suarez though I mean you really have to think about the reward over the risk. Those kind of players don't come around every day.

With Ciftci there is more risk than reward, for me. Not to mention the massive gap in quality between the two players being compared.

I know, that's what I meant by if they're taking it us a moral stance or not.

Risk/reward as in every transfer. This ones riskier than most but could be a high reward for me.

Aye I know that all transfers carry it, this could be a master-stroke if he can be ironed out.

I was more comparing it with a Suarez transfer in particular when I said about the risk. If he was somehow linked with us with all his disciplinary problems in the past..it would still be a no brainer as we'd know you were pretty much guaranteed a quality player even if he did have a screw loose.

    With Ciftci it's obviously different.

Looking at it. RD has seen the boy up close so it's not like he's an unknown quantity. He obviously sees something in him that could be developed. Certainly when looking at the strikers currently at our disposal, this guy does offer more ability in holding up the ball, he looks strong and the '*' streak may have its uses if tempered down to aggression.

Lets not forget Sutton and Harrison, who by all means weren't *, well not back then anyway, although Sutty did have 'oor *' way about him, they were mean as * on the pitch. I'll never forget Hartson's part in bullying defences en route to our Euro cup final.

What i'm saying is, in Europe where there's a lot of men behind the ball and a lone striker, this lad would at least put a shift in (heard that one before) but he wouldn't be afraid to rile defenders, stick the boot in, rough folk up. Sometimes against better opposition you need a bit of that - though he has the ability to pass and move too, not jut a big lump. Not to mention if we have guys like stefan, GMS etc bursting baws to get forward, a central striker who holds up the ball, chases things down etc. might play well in a counter attack tactic.

Ultimately, meh, he could fit the bill.

All signs are pointing to him wanting to be a Celtic player. I'd agree with whoever said he'd be a better option than Scepovic, don't think he'll ever make it here. In that respect he'd be an improvement.

I personally would want better but you have to trust the Manager.
